I will be 21 for this game.

Turning back the years in order to save a tenner :D

This is our annual pre-Christmas trip to that London, so we'll be there. Would prefer the lower tier though.

It was stupidly expensive last year too, thats the price of an "ambitious", rich boardroom people ;)

As Linz says, we'll be staying down there, so will definitely be out pretty early/after the match for a few beverages....

Same place as last year Derrywan? Can't remember the name without looking it up.

HELL YEAH it was O'Neill's indeed - beside the Shepherds Bush Empire. I'll get over early too to get my drink on. Will probably have to head back to the Royal County about 7 or so as I may be dj-ing my mate's night that evening (in full BeerPhones mode)

We're on the 06:50 Megabus which should roll into London Victoria at 10:20. Pop through to Old Street to drop the bags off and then we'll be in O'Neills for some dinner again I reckon.

And I'm sure we will be indulging in a post-match drinky to let the crowds die down on the choob :D

£20.... not too bad....
Reckon i can get back for 8.30pm??

Erm... the best bet would be the official coaches getting away quickly.

There isn't a Megabus that'd let you watch the whole match.

Shepherds Bush to St Pancras is half an hour on tube, same from White City... and that's not taking the congestion of people into account. There is a train from St Pancras at 17:55 that gets to Sheffield at 20:06 though.

I'm pretty sure that it's the same prices as last year, so I'm not fussed. Only £20 for me, mind.

I think we looked at that one but decided it was a bit too much of a rush, so we've booked the next train after that.

It's looking like a chilly one in that London this Saturday... temperatures not far above freezing.

Wrap up warm kids!

also look out for changes to the circle line - it's not a circle anymore - so if you're heading straight towards shepherds bush/ goldhawk road from the sheffield train at St Pancras expect chaos on the circle line platforms (as the circle line now goes that far west, as well as the Hammersmith & city). info here

It used to be a proper, proper discount travel service. When I was at Uni, we regularly used it to nip all over Scotland to see bands and stuff for a pound a time. They've expanded a lot over the last few years and they go all over Britain, but the fares aren't always that cheap.

Still says £30 on't OS.

Do you know if you're on the lower tier perhaps?

I noticed that it said £30 on OS. However the dude definately charged me £51 for 2 tickets.

I presumed I was in the upper tier. As far as i remember we only had the upper tier last year (?) and I wouldn't expect it to change this time around.

It still is! If you book in advance you'll rarely pay more than a fiver for a single journey.

Nah... we had both tiers last year, we were on the lower.

Ah well... let's hope it's worth it, however much the tickets are :D

Mine was definately £30, no fair! :)

Talk of the QPR fans is that Paul Hart will be taking over the manager's job before Saturday. I really hope not, I'm not keen on playing against a team with a new manager :(

It's not as cheap as it used to be though. They only really sell the first couple of seats at the minimum £1. Some routes, I'm not convinced they even start off at £1.

The flip side is that they don't use those converted double deckers anymore, that always broke down en route from Dundee to Glasgow! They actually have a decent fleet of coaches these days.

Hope Blackwell has done his homework for this one. I know he was commentating on the game so no excuses!
QPR were very dangerous at set-pieces against WBA on monday and went into a shock 2 goal lead. They have just got Paul hart in as manager so they'll be really up for this one. Blackwell though will also have seen how well WBA threw the kitchen sink at QPR and equalised in injury time, so they do bottle it. Got to defend against them free kicks into the box though, because they were very effective monday!

we still on to meet in that o'neill's? I'll try to get there for LUNCH (Weather permitting on the soft as shite southern railways) and try not to get too scunnered as am going up to the in-laws cambridge after the game now.

It's all much a do about nothing matey. It's freezing but there is no snow in London. Maybe i'm putting a curse on, but at the moment it's ok. I woke up at 6.30am this morning expecting to see snow, but it was just wet and horrible.
