Still time to develop, then. He's 18 and behind Sachdev (and, previously, Curtis) in the 21s pecking order.
Apparently it is quite startling how far off it Zattersrom was before he eventually went to Genoa. You never know he could come good but I suspect we will have to cut our losses. Cant' see Genoa buying him, he's made 1 app.I'll agree with you on Nwachukwu, Ukaki and probably Zätterström as they're all L2/L1 level, with the latter being particularly frustrating as we spent a decent amount on him. However, Polendakov remains a decent prospect who will probably do well somewhere in Europe at a similar level to the Championship.
Jack Waldron is on loan at Scarborough so 18 year old Sam Colechin has been consistently picked at RB.He's 18 and behind Sachdev (and, previously, Curtis) in the 21s pecking order.
Don't get me wrong, if we're going to sign an AI-discovered prospect then right back is just about the last position we'd need them to play. We've got Seriki, Curtis, Sachdev, Colechin and Waldron aged 22 or under and most of them have age-group international recognition and most have already appeared for our first team.Jack Waldron is on loan at Scarborough so 18 year old Sam Colechin has been consistently picked at RB.
My (second hand) ITK information on that signing is that we paid way over the odds given the market and ability of the player.Still time to develop, then.
We paid a whack for an unproven teenager on the basis of Bord AI, though. That’s something that cannot be brushed aside. It’s not as though he’s a pick up from non-league with high potential. We just don’t know.
That reinforces my impression of that took place. Bord is a snake oil salesman and we’re well rid.My (second hand) ITK information on that signing is that we paid way over the odds given the market and ability of the player.
Its a massive conflict of interest. Daughters partner coming back from a serious knee injury and at present looking well off the player he was. Now we all hope he gets back to his previous high levels. But what if he doesn't , who is deciding on whether to offer him a new contract and what the appropriate wages are!I’ve thought for a while it makes him more likely to leave. Having your father-in-law as your manager isn’t an ideal situation. Feel like one will end up going sooner rather than later.
Who he didn't and never calls outYes he was our worse player....along with Peck
When I saw that not only were these first lots of AI deals coming from a Bulgarian market and that Bord co-owned that club. It absolutely stunk. That reinforces my impression of that took place. Bord is a snake oil salesman and we’re well rid.
Still doesn’t stop loads of people slagging off Wilder and Bettis as though they were responsible for this mess in the closed season. It makes Rosen and Elbowwhatsit look like reyt chumps.

Little bit silly of Blaster to put himself and the manager in this position and apart from family owned businesses there's not many other areas of work that would allow this to happen.
We paid what would probably be the going rate for a 21 year old Bulgarian full international and top 10 performer in their league for an unproven just-turned-18 year old. That's entirely on the Bo[a]rd.My (second hand) ITK information on that signing is that we paid way over the odds given the market and ability of the player.
Who’s blamed Wilder for the closed season issues? I’ve seen blame aimed at COH/Bord and the wider Board (on which Bettis sits) but not anything blaming Wilder for a period when he wasn’t even at the club. That reinforces my impression of that took place. Bord is a snake oil salesman and we’re well rid.

I can tell you he's not rated at allHe's 18 and behind Sachdev (and, previously, Curtis) in the 21s pecking order.
Like the look of that lad ,good athlete ,good size, decent feetJack Waldron is on loan at Scarborough so 18 year old Sam Colechin has been consistently picked at RB.
Bettis was here during the summer and was the boards ‘football man’ after Bord had been binned, so together with Allen & Hoyland carries the responsibility for the summer. They were either negligent (and didn’t see what Bord was doing) or weak (wouldn’t stand up to Bo[a]rd) and stand by their principles). That reinforces my impression of that took place. Bord is a snake oil salesman and we’re well rid.

I haven’t seen anyone blame Wilder for the recruitment of these individuals. The criticism I’ve seen is that he’s not managed to coax them into not being insipid and unrelatable. Something he managed to do last time around and certainly did the first time he was here.I’ve seen lots of people blame Bettis and Wilder for the current squad of insipid and unrelatable players.
As far as Sheffield United is concerned, it’s a snafu
January is always a shite window to sort anything. Summer is the key, as you say.Bettis was here during the summer and was the boards ‘football man’ after Bord had been binned, so together with Allen & Hoyland carries the responsibility for the summer. They were either negligent (and didn’t see what Bord was doing) or weak (wouldn’t stand up to Bo[a]rd) and stand by their principles).
The blame for Wilder goes as far as the shocking January business (again), our poor fitness record and patchy form. We’re back to playing the same stodgy football as last season, only this time we haven’t got a top class keeper over performing so the tight results are going against us.
I really, really hope that this summer he’s got to wheel and deal, trim the fat and look for some bargains as this is where he’s done his best work in the past and will tell us if he’s still got it.
So , he's fully fit in that department thenArblaster isn't leaving, he's just announced he's got wilders daughter up the duff.
Depends if he can ever return to fitness.Doesn't mean he won't leave
Fair comment but I still think it's disrespectful & unprofessional for Wilder to talk in disparaging terms about the club's players.Other clubs will take a look at these guys and believe they are worth summat?
Seriously?
The damage was done when Bord persuaded those in charge that he knew owt, when it’s been proven that he’s a chancer and a knownowt.
My overriding point regards the AI players were that they couldn’t really do any worse than some of the shite we’ve had on the pitch, not that they’re actually any good, no body knows how good they are but we do know how shite some of the players who’ve had multiple games are.You mean like Ukaki at Birmingham, in the league cup, who was a headless chicken and so obviously way out of his depth? He kept getting muscled out of challenges before he got anywhere near the control of a football.
Zatterstrom is so good that he gets to sit and watch Italian football at pitch side.
By all means have an irritation and try to scratch it but it loses credibility when the pop evidences the lack of use of well under par players that the naive owners were duped into signing from their AI buddy Bord.
Fuck em.Fair comment but I still think it's disrespectful & unprofessional for Wilder to talk in disparaging terms about the club's players.
Oh, we do know what they would be like. Utter bobbar. My overriding point regards the AI players were that they couldn’t really do any worse than some of the shite we’ve had on the pitch, not that they’re actually any good, no body knows how good they are but we do know how shite some of the players who’ve had multiple games are.
As a side note, I’m not advocating using the AI module, I think it’s a load of crap personally mate.
Bettis has been the main stay through all our recruitment processes for years now, it’s a shame we can’t have a full revamp of the whole process, the club needs to have and show some kind of strategy, not a clusterfuck approach like last season.
That’s a guess but you could well be reyt.Oh, we do know what they would be like. Utter bobbar.
If they don’t do it in training then they don’t make the squad. If they were any good there’s no way Wilder and Knill would leave them out if they were tearing it up.That’s a guess but you could well be reyt.![]()
Without going on and on, Wilder hasn’t played a few players who could clearly play football but only got in because of an injury to an inferior player. Just because Wilder doesn’t rate them doesn’t mean they are bobbar, it’s his right to deem them surplus to requirements though. If they don’t do it in training then they don’t make the squad. If they were any good there’s no way Wilder and Knill would leave them out if they were tearing it up.
Evidence suggest (like Ukaki vs Brum in League Cup) that bobbar is the order of the day.
