As a curtain raiser, the night before the Derby game at Bramall Lane on Sunday October 16th, the Blades will be hosting an Intimate Evening with Chris Morgan.

Ever wanted to have a pint and a chat with the colourful Blades skipper? Fancy dining in the surrounds of the 1889 suite? now is your chance!

Included in the price is a three course meal, consisting of:

Starter: Ham Hock terrine served on mixed leaves with Yorkshire Piccalilli
Main: Chicken Breast with potato rosti served in a wild mushroom sauce with seasonal vegetables
Desert: Chocolate and Orange Tart with Chantilly cream

Veggie option: Mozzarella and Mediterranen veg pithivier with a tomato sauce

Guests will be invited to arrive at 7.30pm to mingle in the 1889 bar for a drink and chat with Chris before being seated for dinner at 8.

Tea and Coffee will be served before a brief comfort break.

The special guest will then take the 1889 stage for an intimate Q&A session - Your chance to hear some great anecdotes and to ask your own questions of the Blades skipper.

Every guest will enter a free draw to win a signed “Morgs” picture on the night and there will also be a mini auction to raise funds for the fantastic “Legends of the Lane” Museum project!

There are just 70 places for this fabulous evening.
Tickets are priced at £45 each or a table of 8 can be purchased for £340. Bookings are through the SUFC Box Office either in person or on 0871 995 1889.

Please note that the dress code for the evening is smart casual. Some of the content during the question and answer session may not be appropriate for minors and we would not wish to cause anyone needless offence.

Chuffing chicken? If it's a night with Morgs they should be serving a traditional 1lb 6oz Barnsley Chop.

I'm with you on that one, but you've never been in the 1889 have you? I'm surprised they haven't found a fancier word for Chicken :D

It's usually nice though.

Looks like you'll be eating in the forests if the spelling is to be believed.

That'll teach me to copy and paste without proof-reading :)

Fancy Pretentious word for a pie

Much as myself and super_pig would love to attend this, we shall unfortunately be otherwise engaged, launching our new Artery album, 'Civilisation', with support from The Silent Age and DJs Jamie Headcharge and Z Carr, at the Corporation, Milton Street, Sheffield the same night... tickets £7 from usual Corporation outlets and www.corporation.org.uk . Sorry like :D

You can certainly count Tunsy and Raul out at £45. Make it a fiver and they might think about it.

I'm sure it'll be a good evening but £45 seems very steep doesn't it?

I never thought I would say this, but ..... I am starting to like Nuddy

Spot on Mick. I would prefer to meet him for a couple of real ale's down at the Cricketers or sumert. Understand the need for United to raise a bit of cash, but that is steep. If there was an option to meet him for a beer* then I would, but I am not bothered about the £45 menu**.

* I actually wrote and invited him to a RAPFA meeting (at Dronfield) and he e-mailed me and said he would come down. However he e-mailed the morning of the game and I missed it and hence did not sort owt. Apparently he is a fasn of real and proper football :D

** same price as Green Head House in Chapeltown, where you'll get 5 courses of top notch grub (no Morgs though).

The night with the 1991 squad seems better IMO - £25 and maybe we'll find out if Billy chinned Vinny...

Micalijo are having a joint birthday celebration at that evening. Should be a good night.

I was intending to throw some details up on that one tonight, I'd imagine S24SU will be having a table again.

If it was an intimate evening with Erik Tonne, we know who'd have the first ticket...

He'd have the first, the last and every ticket in between. All in order to ensure it really was an intimate evening.

Not sure I want to know what you're throwing one up tonight thanks

No. £45 sounds more like highway fucking robbery. Plus 30 minutes for a drink and a chat with Morgs before army ration pack chicken doesn't give you long, considering that there will be 70 people there. 25.71 seconds each. Wow.

A plate of bread and dripping and some peanuts for £1.25 would be steep. £45 for potted meat, stolen cat in mushroom gravy and a bit of Terry's chocolate orange is, frankly, outrageous.

Might want to reword this bit Foxy, it sounds like its on Sunday night and the Derby is on Monday:

the night before the Derby game at Bramall Lane on Sunday October 16th

Is it on the Sat night?
