I knew that there were always 2 things that made Sheffield great...and we've got both!:D

Anyone else notice matth's birthday announcement at half time?

Think Derby are a pretty decent side, despite conceding 4 goals.

Thought our first 2 goals were against the run of play, but were both very good goals. So was the third. Can admit I didn't see the fourth because I'd just left lol.:(

All round solid enough performance. Thought Bromby was dodgy though.

Jamie Ward has an extremely bright future ahead of him if he can continue to improve the way he is. Very impressive.

Don't know about against the run of play, but certainly 2-0 was rough on them. Bromby seemed lost to me, drifting in and out of the game. Naughton was often directing him about.

Waaaaardy was excellent. If sufclucy weren't out gallivanting, she'd have cast her vote for him to be MOTM :D

I think he had several Duracell batteries up his bum.

Quite :D

Keith Edwards liked the Henderson/Ward partnership very much, and he should know. Sounded a thrilling game. Dont they make you sweat! Pity about Burnley, though. Come on Doncaster!

It was noticeable how close they were today.

Ha ha! Not thought about that!

No :( Mind you, I was keeping HH the Younger III occupied at that point.

That'll do. I was expecting Derby to give us a pasting, and I thought we were very fortunate in the first half to go in 2-0 up. Their midfield was almost entirely through Robbie Savage in the second half, but I think in the end we deserved the win. And even if Clough Junior thinks we didn't then I'm still happy to take the three points.

Ward was excellent, Henderson had a very good game even though he looked knackered towards the end. As Foxy has said elsewhere I'd have dropped Quinn instead of Monty, but it seems that Quinn is our new "son of".

Anyhow, the beer after the match actually tasted nice for a change. Victory pints always do.

great game played yesterday by both sides, really enjoyed the game and a good following from down the road......just waiting to see what the championship has to say about us ,probably usual crap
p.s. whats hulse doing in the line up photo

I think after Beattie (mark 2) scored yesterday we now have 20 different scorers for the season.
Which is a record I believe.
I will see if i can find the stats later.

Monty was injured and the team had to be changed about an hour before kick off.

Great game to win, shame that in 2 games we've conceded 4 goals all from silly mistakes really. Hope we can carry our form into an important game next sunday!

i voted henderson for scoring 2. cant remember any of the game though :(

Hi, derby fans view.

As The son of god said we were fecking awful at defending. Our defence stood of your attackers far too much which gave you the space to rip us aprt in the 1st 20 minutes. We looked very good going forward and if we had a far better defence then the result could have been in our favour as we had numerous chances, espically towards the end when Villa had a header cleared off the line and hulse blazed over in a crowded penalty.

Still, minus the result and the plod :thumbdown:it was a decent day out. Good following by us,thought we were rather good atmosphericly in the second half, how did it sound like in your end?

good to see another club gettting top 20,000 attendances and was a cracking game, proper football day out.

Good luck for the rest of season, deserve to go up for more than Birmingham as quite frankly they are lucky buggers who make forest look half decent

Andy.

Hi, derby fans view...

Thanks for that Andy.

I think yesterday gave us a cracking game of football and the end result flattered us slightly after the amount of pressure you piled on in the second half... for me, the game wasn't put to bed until we scored our fourth well into injury time.

I know a few Blades had money on Hulse scoring and you capitalised on some defensive mistakes to score your goals.

Aye... good following from your lot, but we wouldn't expect anything else with the short distance :) Think the bottom tier holds just over 2500 fans.

As for the comment about the rozzers... Bramall Lane appears to be getting a reputation amongst visiting fans as an awkward one for police and stewards spoiling the fun. If you've had a bad experience in the ground, I'd urge you to contact United. As useless as they are at some things, they do tend to respond when fans have concerns and I for one don't want to see Bramall Lane turn into somewhere people think they can't travel to :)

Good luck to you and yours too. You've had a steal from us in Hulse!

Thanks for the reply,The stewards were fine as 90% of our support were standing and they even let the mental on the concourse continue without wading into to break it up. Although one of our travelling stewards was annoying me as he told me to keep the gangway clear even though my foot was only just in the gangway.

The plod on the other hand, where do i start. We have no history with you lot unlike wednesday but there were fecking everywhere. Locked down the stretch between the Globe and The Howard and said we couldn't leave till 2 unless we had special permission (females and Kids) they then made us walk the long way to the ground and were very heavy handed.

they then delayed the Cardiff train which was already packed to herd 300 of us onto much to the annoyance of the commuters already on the train. No doubt we will have the same treatment in a 4 weeks time when we play wednesday.

Aye... as we went through town early on, we did comment that there appeared to be an awful lot of Police.

There have been some instances of Wednesday attacking people when they're supposed to be playing away though... particularly round the bus station/train station area... so SYP might be on the look-out for that.

An idea in future might be to head the other way out of the train station towards the tram stop and pop on the tram into town (£1.40)... it's within walking distance but it might stop you being shepherded.

:D after just looking at the pictures i can see myself in two and i am stood slap bang in the middle of the gangway about 5 rows up . maybe he had a point afterall :D

cheers i'll bear that in mind for when we play wednesday.

If it's where I think you mean, I did notice a steward in white having an argument with someone :D I didn't think we had any stewards in white coats at the Lane so that would explain it!

Yes we had a heated discussion,he was the same one that tried to kick me out at Reading for standing on the back row!! even tho the 5 rows in front were standing but im used to it as im 16,they never pick on adults.

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only person to notice Naysmith gave a very solid performance on Saturday.

He does it quietly and consistently.

Model professional.
