Swansea Away.

Swansea fan here.
And would like to know if you lot now how many blades will be making their way down south wales on saturday?
Also if theres any information any of you need, I wouldnt mind helping another football fan out!

Welcome to the forum :)

I guess what most people will need to know is parking and pubs :) Some of us are also staying the weekend so info about where to head out at night (and where to avoid!) would also be handy.

Cheers in advance.

You must be looking forward to playing us after reading all the whinging United fans have been doing about our performances?

Yes most definately.
Well if your staying down, best leaving your car in town somehwere. (IE. One on of the many multistorey car parks), and then either enjoy the 25-30 min walk from town to the ground or grab a taxi for about £4.
Also there is a park and ride system available which will be signposted on arrival to swansea via the M4.
Pubs, well around the ground there is a franky and benny's, which is the most safest most probably for away fans. Places like the coopers, and the railway inn and all pubs on the walk down to the ground from the town should probably be avoided.
In the night, Wind street is probably the place to go, full of bars and the odd club.

How many of you expected to travel then? A big club like you, a big following is expected. =)
Looking forward to this one, and looking forward to it as we are both up there.

"Playing away from home means that you don't have to please anyone other than ourselves and our fans, just get the points and go home." Kevin Blackwell

So sounds like it will be the same team that started against Forest then.

Grab a cheeky 1-0 lead and hope Swansea don't score.

Can hear game here if you can't get Radio Sheffield. RAdio Wales re-bradcast:

I wouldn't be too down on your chances we are not playing as well as we were as we've had disruption to the squad and have nowhere near the strangth in dpeth that you have.

Once again, seems like we have been cheated out of the game!!!
Officials making the wrong decisions costing games, it seems to happen every week...
Ipswich- given an a non-penalty
Burnley- goal disallowed for a supposed 'offside'
- goalkeeper not sent off after bringing down sharp in one on one oportunity
- Dodgy penatly given to burnley
Swansea- Sending off of Henderson???
- Penalty given when the tackle was outside the box???

Thats just the last three games!!! When are we going to get some luck/decent officials that dont ruin our game!???

So so p***ed off!!!!!

To be fair i think we got plenty of luck to say we were pretty much played off the park today with only 10 men for 45 minuits and still managed to come away with a point. Not seen the replays but i reckon in this case the officials probably got the penalty decision right, as i thought Naysmith made contact inside the box. As for the sending off i'm not sure but Henderson was having another poor game anyway. It was just a poor performance by ourselves that let us down today. Keep the faith though, if we keep grinding out results like that and keep ourselves in and around the play-offs i won't be too disappointed.

How was that a sending off?????
Not sure about the Penalty as the camera angle was rubbish.
Good finish by Captain and good they played to the end and didn't switch off.

Agreed sensiblade, on both accounts.

My point is that key decisions by refs have generally been very poor this season, we never some to be the beneficiary of any of these dodgy decisions.

Yes, I agree we were quite fortunate to get a point but it was not down to luck or any other decision out of the control of the footballers on the pitch, i.e. not the ref, linesman or a lucky deflection

As a team, we were bobbins. Kenny aside probably (after the slagging he's been receiving of late) we were crap... it's unfair really to try and pick people out.

Naughton was exposed by Halford being ordered to man mark in the centre of the field, leaving no one on the right wing. Naughton tired and got turned a few times in the second half. Naysmith was naive in fouling in that position for the penalty, it was outside the box but you should not give away a free kick in that position.

The midfield was crap. We should send Howard back to the Dingles under the trades descriptions because I think they've sent us someone from the ticket office instead of a footballer. He seems to be very good at trying to boss everyone else around while he himself does nothing. Spring tried but was over-run a lot of the time. Quinn was rarely out on the wing.

With Halford being told to move to the centre, Beattie tried to drop wide and both him and Henderson received nothing. The Mirror said Hendo was sent off for an elbow... a ridiculous claim, but he did put his arm across. Very silly thing to do.

We left it too long after the sending off to make a change when it was obvious things weren't working. How Howard managed to stay on the pitch for 90 minutes I'll never know.

Swansea didn't really look like scoring until the penalty and didn't really have too many decent chances besides that. If we were playing anyone else, we might have been battered.

We could really really do without playing Palace on the telly next weekend :(

I've voted for Kenny.

Want to vote for Monty though:D

I cant really comment on this match as i wasnt there, but based on what i have seen at the lane and his performances i couldnt agree more with this statement. He doesnt seem to be the player that we beleived we were getting at all. Maybe he isnt being played in the right manner, but based on his positioning he doesnt seem to want to get involved in the matches. Id love to see the stats for his performances and see how much he does actually get involved.

As far as returning him to the dingles, im pretty sure that after the whole farse that was the transfer i doubt that that we would be able to not sign him now. It wouldnt surprise me if the dealwas already signed and legally sealed.
