Why do we always play Palace at home around Christmas?

Match thread for Warnock's latest visit...

My main dilemma for this is Mrs SV is away in that there Lunnun Tahn for the weekend, so Small SV and I have the house to ourselves. Do I see if I can palm her off on grandparents for the Saturday, letting me go a bit giddy on the ale, or shall I bring her with me?

A ticket for a kid, a coke for me and a water for her (she likes water!) before, chunky Kitkat during and chips after the match will be far less than a skinful of beer and perhaps some kebab action, but should I inflict what will undoubtedly not be a classic on her, coupled with the fact that it's going to be cold and very possible wet too, or let her have a nice sleepover at Grandad's?

As much as I love her, ditch the bairn... tis the last home match before that Crimble so unless you're gonna drag your miserable arse out for a night out, it's the last chance we'll get for a drink :D

So probably Williamson and Harper, with Quinny replacing Williamson after 60 mins and Stewart coming on the left

Sheffield United v Crystal Palace Prediction

I have collected a few predictions for the Sheffield United v Crystal Palace match

WOSB.com: Prediction of result:1-1
Soccervista: draw - result prediction 1 - 1

I can see this hardly being a classic game of football. Palace's backroom is all at sea, but if anyone knows how to gee up players against the odds, it's Uncle Neil.

Meanwhile, we don't know where the goals are going to come from. Henderson is out, Camara still had his leg strapped so might not be fit enough to start. Even Monty, who's been having a crack, is suspended.

Mr Evans, your time has come.

I'm saying a 1-0 either way. It'll be crap. And cold.

When Sheffield United are involved?? No way! :(

I agree with Linz, can see it being another poor encounter with Warnock keeping his unbeaten record against us since leaving. 1-1.

I hope I'm wrong, and we see a quality game of football with a 3-1 win but I can't see where we're going to get that many goals from...

I think this is the first time I've ever seen Monty's name linked to a "where's the goals coming from" type paragraph.

PS. I do appreciate the word EVEN in front, but still . . . .

Further to the dilemma, I have been to the ticket office and Small SV is coming with me. If I have to endure the cold then so can she.:D

Odd really another poorish game and yet we go marching on.
Just think what we could do if we played football. :)

There were some quite good spells of movement with the ball though, particularly with Wardy.

Cresswell worked his legs off. Even Evans showed a bit more.

Very satisfied with the result though... particularly against Warnock's set of dirty twats and those ridiculous officials.

Onwards and upwards chaps!

Couldn't agree more first 20-30 minutes of the game we played the ball round really well, I like what Williamson is showing me looks a very positive signing my opinion gets the ball down and brings others into the game, thought on a whole the team showed some very positive elements, we had to go more route one second half because of Palace coming onto us but Ched and Cresswell, Ward and Quinn worked hard won us a few things that maybe earlier in the season all would have shyed from. Very decent game.

Not perfect but with another clean sheet we can't grumble.

UP THE BLADES!

Where did you get that from???? We played a lot of football. I assume you listened rather than went? If you went, you've been watching too much Premier league. That's the best I've seen us play and would be happy to watch that every week.

Amen to that.

Thought we were way better than we have been all season.

Even when we went negative second half there was a constant source of amusement with the Lino who was as bad as any I've ever seen.
