On-topic discussion for the Tuesday night visit of Blackpool.

Remember to vote for your MOTM following the game.

kenny
Naughton Morgan Killa Naysmith
Cotterill JJ Monty Halford
BT Ward

Subs: Bromby, Squinn, Hendo, Webber, Lupoli

Early team news.......

Beattie or Ward could start v Blackpool alongside Henderson.
Webber or Howard set to make way. O'Toole likely to remain on the bench.

:)

I reckon we may go goal crazy tomorrow just because i cant rember the last we did..

but as im going to the match and the last time i went we lost to donny.. we will probli lose one nil agen

kenny
Naughton Morgan Killa Naysmith
halford hendrie Monty cotterill
BT Ward

Subs: Bromby, Squinn, Hendo, o'toole, lupoli

thats my team i think that team is one of are best we can put out. i dont know if any of them are injured.. and that bench has all areas covered to change the game if it not going right.

I should be online for the second half tonight... sending my Mother in my place and she is certainly hoping for a better performance than Doncaster, the last time she went :D

Looking forward to a good atmosphere tonight, I love night matches!

Keenzy, good team selection - I'd go with that one too. Let's hope Blackie does and we get at the Seasiders from kick-off to the final whistle!

I'd like to see Beattie get a start along side Henderson.

Is hendrie injured? He seems to have disappeared again, after a couple of really good performances? If he's fit he deserves a go in the team, he was superb against Hull in the cup.

My team

Kenny
Naughton Killa Morgan Naysmith
Cotterill Squinn Hendrie (if fit - JJ if not) Halford
Henderson BT

Bench; Benno, Bromby, Howard, Ward, Lupoli

Kenny
Naughton Killa Morgan Naysmith
Cotterill JJ Quinny Hendrie
Webber Henderson

Even though Webbers not fan favorite at the moment hes still scoring so im keeping him in

Think we will win 2-0
Squinny and Henderson

Im not sure if ward is ready for a start yet, maybe we should give him a few 20mins here n there before we give him a starting place. Id have beattie and henderson up front and bring ward on later in match...especially if we are winning.
I agree webber is scoring at the moment, but does not contribute enough in general play. We lose the ball much to often with webber playing because he cannot win headers and is easily pushed off the ball even if it is on the deck...
Possibly worth considering putting JJ in the starting 11 as he has done extremely well thus far and give us someone else to support the front 2. I wish I was going to the match tonight, but cant make it due to work commitments!

Lincoln Blade

1-1 is the score... and the floodlights aren't exactly working :)

That's the latest I have from Foxy!

Shit... losing 2-1.

Foxy tried to phone but I couldn't hear a word.

Penalty scored by Cotterill for a foul on Ward in the box... equalised!

Come on Blades!

Full time... finished 2-2.

Will add MOTM poll ready for all the returning bods...

Jamie Ward.

Did well when he came on.

As a whole...not flipping good enough.

As a whole...not flipping good enough.

Thought they were the first half, but lacked a killer touch. Then from the final minute of the first onwards we had a bad one.

Really frustrating night; especially given the results that have come in elsewhere. I'm not going to criticise any player but i will say that i would like to see JJ O'Toole and Jamie Ward come into the team for the weekend.

A win against Derby will put the wind back in our sails but that will not be an easy game by any stretch; i dare say they will offer more then Blackpool did tonight.

I'd be interested to hear whether Howard's exclusion made any difference from our performance at QPR?

It was clear on Saturday that he was merely a passenger... did Webber get involved more?

That's not so much a point saved as two points down the khazi. Two bits of defensive ineptitude coupled with a total lack of any killer instinct cost us a win. Yes, you can blame Morgan and Killa for the two goals, but if we'd put Blackpool to the sword as we should have done within the first half hour then the two goals they scored wouldn't have mattered.
On tonight's showing I'd be tempted to give Ward a starting place, and drop one of either Quinn or Monty for O'Toole, probably Quinn. Monty has improved a lot of late, but unless he plays like Zidane for the whole match, and not on occasion like a bizarre ZZ/Zebedee cross-breed then perhaps he too could be swapped. Quinn needs a break.
And why is it when we are chasing the points we look increasingly desperate, resorting to hoofball when in the first half hour we outplayed Blackpool by a country mile?
I hate their shitty tower too.

Started off bright, thought once we went ahead ealry we might win comfortably. But once again it just doesn't happen. It doesn't help having the smallest midfield around though. Both temas had chances in the second half and I thought we just shaded it to be fair.

Ward did well when he came on and I actually didn't think it was a penalty. He took the ball round the keeper but knocked it too far past and the chance went. So hence the tumble. Just my opinion.

Felt sorry for Webber, least he was trying. He made some good runs and yes he missed an absolute sitter, he was one of the brighter sparks. Need to win Saturday and it won't be an easy game. Odds on Hulse to score?

Utter crap this match.

Morgan and Kilgallon for the 1st time in a while had a shocker and couldnt handle a pacey Blackpool front 2.

Monty and Quinn all over the place at times and not looking for a pass.

Webber was just awful full stop.

2 points pissed away and lucky not to be 3 points.

Also their keeper should of been sent off.

I voted for Monty. Just for the hell of it. Like when you go into the voting booth for an election, and you see the box next to the Monster Raving Loony Party candidate, and the little voice in your head says "Go on, do it. Just this once."

You don't get the little voices? Freaks.:D

I'm sorry mate, but in the first half he was probably one of our best players.

It was interesting in the second half to watch how the possession slipped...

I was watching the Sky Sports Centre thingy online and as the half went on, our possession slipped from dominant to almost even.

Another noticeable thing just from the stats, that possession didn't translate into shots on goal.
