'I couldn't have asked more of the players'

I dunno Vincent. You could have asked them to attempt heading the ball out of the penalty area.

Bizarre excuses from him there. As a former defender himself you would be very pissed off at some of the goals they conceded yesterday. I know he isn't going to throw his team under the bus on TV but I would expect him to say a bit more about it. Even the interviewer rightly pointed it out in their question to him.

He said "It's the basics in this league" no Vincent it's the basics of football in general. Head it clear and if you can't do that get to the second ball.

Even the Burnley fans acknowledge the issue.

Vincent Kompany's Burnley, hopefully will end the same way as Frank Lampard's Derby, Chelsea and Everton and Steven Gerrard's Villa. The managers playing reputation counts for nought. Good start from Kompany but we've now shown the way - they cannot defend crosses and pressure on the keeper.

I dont think he said too much wrong but he does come across a bit like someone who is just playing at it

We will see what he and his coaching staff are made of now because weve just opened a gaping wound in the shark tank

Bit puzzled by the burnley fan saying they will work on set pieces now ,i mean what the fuck has he been doing since july ? Being humble ?

His after match interview seemed to scream of PR bullshit. They've had the same number of games & frequency as everyone else and tbh they're not a team which screams "humble" by the way they sulkily gave up in the 2nd half when backs completely against the wall. He had no plan B other than bring on ineffective subs and didn't once try to counter our set pieces by bringing on a taller defender or positioning players on the line at corners.

They'll still be go up mind but we'll be up before them. Fingers crossed 🤞

Re giving up, I appreciate the game was pretty much done by then, but I was shocked that they had an attacking throw-in very late on and in tow touches it was back to their 'keeper. It was like they just weren't bothered any more.

They also made a substitution late on and the player went off so slowly, we thought he might have got confused and thought they had a lead to protect 🙂

They were tired bless 'em.

Get the impression that komoany likes to take advantage of the staff duscount in the club shop ?

He will probably make a decent manager.
But this league requires a bit of everything. They struggled with our press all match and our set piece attacks.
Might play decent football and so can we but we have the experience to do the other stuff too.

They might well win in the reverse fixture but I'd like to think we will be ready for them too!

Bit OTT some of the reaction to him imho.

Always liked VK and thought he's interviewed really well over the years and shown class.

The bigger clubs tend to protect their players and not call them out publicly, so maybe that's a trait he's picked up.

Liked it early in the game when Robinson put a strong challenge in but didn't really catch their player. Even so he rolled around a bit but VK walked down the touchline and told him to get up.
