Can’t see why we would get a penny. I’m not holding out for one anyway.

And to think we sold him for about £3m.
That was purely and simply because we were a league 1 club and Harry had very limited Championship experience. Sign of the old times I’m afraid. At the time it was a fairly realistic fee. The grating bit is that we invested so much energy and time in him yet the real winners will be Leicester and Hull......just because they were higher placed

Not 100%. Clubs can include a sell on profit attached to a player. So we could have had a clause in the contract from his Hull days stating that if Leicester sell him, we get a % of profit from the transfer that hull make. It usually is small. But better than nothing.

Be just our luck to have a £15M clause if he ever scores in a World Cup Finals game instead knowing our lot.

I agree if it’s the highest bid you aren’t going to get anymore, however you don’t have to sell, you can always keep hold of the player!

I know with Harry we had to sell because of his contract, but in general if the bid is crap you should keep hold of the player until a decent bid arrives.

So we had to sell Harry. And no one bid more.

The situation with Harry was a fairly unique one. We could have kept him for a final year and taken it to a tribunal. We'd have been likely to have recieved a favourable fee due to the amount of appearances, value of offered contract, international caps etc. For me it was time to let the kid go after holding him back for 3-4 years. It was frustrting to not see the club not develop alongside this outstanding talent. He'd earned his move, and had refused to sign an extended dea.l We should be blaming Clough for not reinvesting properly, and Bruce for not recognising his outstanding talent. If he did I think the sell on clause would've been bigger, as he'd have gone to a bigger club than Leicester.
