    CLUB PORTFOLIO FURTHER ENHANCED

As others have said, great news and it removes and risks of the land and future development at the Lane.

    Incoming? Luke Ayling

Right now maybe, but I said in a year's time. At that point he will be 34 going into the 25/26 season and you would assume, on a decent wage. We will then have the same situation as we have right now with expensive players who have no longevity.

'I played for both' ⚽️ Man U vs Blades

Harry Maguire hasn't been mentioned yet!

    Incoming? Luke Ayling

Back to square one in a year’s time if we sign him.

End of season lap of honour

If they rename it “lap of apology” then some people may stay behind for it.

    Wilder out

Need to clear the decks top to bottom. Far too many, at all levels, living on the coattails of 2016-2020.

    New ground

What have they rejected that the club has proposed in the last 30 years? I can’t think of anything. I’m guessing this Brearley proposal was around the era of Don Valley stadium being built? Maybe that’s why?

    New ground

For all SCC’s faults I don’t see what they’ve done to prevent us building anything?
  9. S64 Blade

    EGAN

Assuming he’s going to be as good as he was before this long term injury will lead to us repeating past mistakes like with Stevens and Fleck. We need to be planning to bring someone in who’s both good enough for the Championship and has the potential to grow and play in the top flight...

Roy's View From... Pre-Match View From Brentford

Quietly confident after reading those comments.

'I played for both' ⚽️ Brentford vs Blades

Ben Starosta. Never made a first team appearance for us though, but was out on loan at Brentford whilst coming through the youth sides.
  12. S64 Blade

    Sai Sachdev

Agreed. I think a lot are letting this cloud their judgement of him. He’s come into the side and shown some exciting promise. A lot forget he was thrown right in the deep end with his first professional starts, is young and came into an absolutely awful side. And, he was still, for the most...

CONFIRMED Points deduction to start next season

Embarrassing that the club got themselves into this state tbh. We were always going to be made an example of whatever other clubs have or haven’t done otherwise.

Player Suggestion Out of Contract (2024)

Ok, just ignore the linked post that I provided :).

Player Suggestion Out of Contract (2024)

I am not talking in hindsight, look at the thread I've mentioned from 2020 for proof that many were saying the same thing. Here's what I said at the time. We did not need to change the formation, just tweak away from the flat 3 in the middle.

Player Suggestion Out of Contract (2024)

The formula also got us relegated and without a win until January (?). We always needed to adapt it to stay fresh, but we didn't. I don't think that's quite true re. the clamor for a striker. Look back on the Buendia thread on here and a lot of people were saying the opposite. We weren't...

Player Suggestion Out of Contract (2024)

I would have said an attacking midfielder, to develop our number of chances for goal creation in that second season (something we did not do enough of in the 1st season) and kick on/develop our style of play. Buendia was rumoured a bit at that time and would have cost less/at most the same, as...

Sunderland confirmed as 2nd lowest points in Premier League history

I think you're right here and touching on another issue of something/someone having to either be dubbed the worst or best ever/of a particular thing. Someone is either the GOAT (even though they've had half a good season), or the worst player to ever play in the Premier League, despite having...

If Danny Murphy is on, I turn it off.

    Grbic

Davies has been offered a new deal, so I hear.
  21. S64 Blade

    Ben Osborn

Wouldn’t be against him getting a year as a bit of a stop gap.
  22. S64 Blade

    Arblaster

Made a mockery of their overpriced midfield.
  23. S64 Blade

    Better today

Games like today and Thursday, even when we lost, is what we expected from this season isn’t it!? We know we aren’t going to win most weeks, but at least having a go.
  24. S64 Blade

What can be learned from this season?

The big one has to be around contracts and recruitment, given the summer ahead and the big rebuild we have to contend with. I am not confident that we can do this well, but we do seem to be making an effort to correct this with the changes in personnel at the club. Second to that would be...

    2024/2025 - Your Starting XI

Those out of contract I would probably keep - Bogle, McBurnie (I am a bit on the fence due to the injuries), Jebbison and Osborn (1 year deal only). I think realistically we cannot keep hold of; Egan (injured until the end of this season, wrong side of 30), Basham (same as Egan, but worse)...

    Van Dijk violent conduct

He was down on the floor holding his neck after. The referee then seemed to proceed to tell Austin off and not saying anything to Van Dijk.

    Van Dijk violent conduct

I've seen this back a few times and it's up there with one of the most baffling non-decisions I've ever seen. The fact it did not even go to VAR, nevermind that no action was taken, is perplexing (well, it's not really, but in a fair world, it would be).

    Sheffield United Legends - Crucible

Anyone else going to this at the Crucible tonight? Haven't seen too much about it advertised - I am only going thanks to my mate somehow finding out about it.

CONFIRMED HSBC Sports Ground - New first team training centre

Certainly and I agree that these teams should have somewhere to play. The real buck stops with the local authority and the FA (if they are serious about grassroots football). United should and do a lot for the local community, but the club can't be responsible for it all.
