He didn't sign Sammon. Edgar is Okay. Sharp and Baptiste very good. Hammond and Woolford flops.

That success rate is much better than Clough's almost 100 percent failure rate.

Woolford was a poor signing everyone knows that, Sammon was coming anyway. Hammomd has been awful, (but no more awful than Higdon was who was signed permanently by somone who made him Captain) Edgar has been in and out and Baptiste has done well.

The expenditure won't be anything like Cloughs second season, we will have paid more to Brayford and Higdon in total then any of them coming in this season.

We will just have to disagree on that but I think those 6 signings by Adkins equal the squad of Clough ,Hammond is being paid 17k a week ,takes care of about 4 or 5 of Cloughs men ,and we have gone from a team in the play offs to 11th ,and no direction for the future. Theres no agrguement who is the better manager in my opinion. Clough 2nd , Adkins 11th is what the records show ,and while Clough picks a team to play Newcastle in front of 8k next year Adkins will pick a team to play Bristol Rovers in front of 20.

The comparison is futile, the second half of last season was terrible, limping into the play offs and humped by Swindon. Clough deserved to go for that, rather than "non footballing reasons".

And Adkins has continued in the same vein, I could stomach not getting promoted had there been some demonstrative improvement. There hasn't. And the sword of Damocles hangs low.

But as many have said, the continuing failure of our beloved club must have a common theme, other than failing managers who have been successful elsewhere.

So was his dad, but it worked in his case.

There is not the even faintest of possibilities that we are paying Dean Hammond £17k per week.

Come on Sitters, you can do better than that.
 
You cant turn a club round in ten months.
Get a grip with it.
Adkins is getting the flack for all the other so called managers as pressure builds with no tolerance supporters.
Team manager is easy but the real world is different. I have bought my season ticket already looking forward to next season and seeing what he does. If we dont succeed then fair enough get a new manager. But keep changing is why we are here.

There are some really sad comments from some real Clough haters.

He got them up - simple as - did what was needed.

He would have got SUFC into the play offs (imho) - probably with boring football - He knew what was needed - 2 x CH and if Adkins hadn't been so fucking SOFT and given some of our pathetically useless squad another chance we could also have been in the playoffs.

Adkins has been weak, when initial strength pre-season was needed. He needed to show proper management and has failed.

Not bothered either way if he goes or stays tbh.

As for Clough - well done - did what was asked of him.

I don't know that but it is the most reliable rumour going round ,I do know he is on 22k at Leicester and Brannigan was under enormous pressure from Adkins and Utd to negotiate a deal with Leicester ,he did it then he was gone ,so who knows. You wouldn't put it past our embarrassment of a club which is still paying our gate money to a druggie 3 months after he was charged to do fuck all.
 
i heard a similar rumour from an ITK'er i know. same figure actually.. who knows. as my late grandfather would have said 'i wouldn't pay him in washers'

If Clough knew 2 centre halves were needed why did he alienate the 2 fit ones on the books, allow the board to sell a 3rd, and not sign one in the window?

And who signed this pathetically useless squad Adkins gave a chance to?

No argument in who is the better manager, agreed Adkins 4 promotions and Clough 1.

We have gone from 71 points last season to 65 points this season, hardly a massive fall and we ended the season with the same result i.e. no promotion!

Basically I see this season as us staying at a similar performance level with the positive being that the rebuild has begun with a lot of the shite already gone with more to follow soon (hopefully).

Clough had a plan not to everyone's liking accepted, but a plan that as based around 4-5-1.

I accept totally that Adkins playing around with these lot and trying o find a formula has not worked.

That doesn't mean the Clough WOULD have failed - in my opinion it would have got us in the playoffs. I wouldn't have been happy with the style but getting out was the goal - and we are now much much further away from getting out and looking at a possible disaster NEXT season because of the change from Clough to Adkins.

As for alienating the 2 fit ones - if you are referring to Collins - he was shit, Clough knew it and eventually Adkins twigged it.

As for the issue with Butler (if that is the other) - I am not aware that ANYONE knows the real reason - it has never been made public - unless you know different?

Wow reading some of this makes me shake my head! Sacking Clough was another one of this clubs unbelievably stupid decisions, like it or not he pulled us round when we were in a really bad way and we reached two semi finals and a playoff. Contrast that to this season it has been truly awful and people still blaming Clough 12 months after he left is madness. The team Clough left with a couple of additions should have won promotion at best and at the very least got a playoff place.

This is the weakest league in all the time we have been in and anyone who thinks it is down to Clough that we haven't got in the top 6 needs their head testing. I am not an advocate of sacking managers but this manager has set us back in a way I didn't think possible the club is on its backside and the manager should shoulder the blame.

Tyler I don't understand where all the anger towards fellow Blades comes from, many of us feel that even though Clough had to change it was a stupid decision to sack him. I am also not comfortable with some of the comments made against Wendy last week. Do we really need to stoop that low? To make fun out of a fan who is now disabled for simply supporting another team is pretty low fella. Now I know you will come on and tell me to do one and that fair enough but for me it goes beyond banter.

Fair play he took Burton up and good luck to him just shows how stupid the people running this club are!
