...to Burton!?!???

I've just made this up off the top of my head so it's about as valid as many on here.

What are the odd's if Burton go up eh?
Would anyone be 'bovvered'?

If Burton go up, Clough will definitely be in for Brayford IMO.

He has always said he would like him whichever club he is managing, and current right back Phil Edwards is out of contract in the summer.

Burton wouldn't be able to afford the fee for Brayford, or his wages ........ but they're welcome to Coutts !

..believe Coutts and Brayford are very 'pally'...could be a BOGOF to get high earners off the wage bill!?!?!

I wouldn't have thought we would recoup anywhere near the wedge we forked out for JB IMO

Could they muster the million they'd need to land him even if they go up? If so, it could be a goer. I'd be sad to see Brayford go even if his form hasn't been great this season

Cloughy can do it...his dad paid a million for Trevor Francis ;)

Hmm...... I've found it a bit strange that when realistically we couldn't make the playoffs, then Brayford suffered a "horrific" injury in training putting him out for the rest of the season, but was walking about in the car park Saturday having photos....

The cynical amongst us might think a deal is already done, and that were protecting the deal by not risking him, or is it just poppycock... Nothing would surprise me with our blinkered owners..

If this has happend then at least the players will be getting paid next season, as the wages are now sorted..

Slight tear he has hasnt he? I guess it's not worth risking him if there is only a tiny chance of making the play offs now.

There is not a chance Burton would be able to match what we're paying either him or Coutts, no matter what division they are in. Sadly.

I saw him in Broomhill and he was on crutches. I reckon he doesn't need crutches on to walk tiny little distances but for the most part he will need it.

Saw Brayford in Rileys on Tuesday, no crutches just a huge fuck off leprosy support thing that he was limping around on

I bloomin' love Brayford, me.

Keep him here. Let Nige build a decent side in the summer - with young, attacking talent that plays the right way. Give him a RB/RWB role with a decent buddy on that flank and see the Brayford of old return.

Ohhhh, the excitement.

Brayford is worth keeping, he was always going to have dips in form from time to time.

Hopefully the injury he has wont have an effect on his form in the future.

There's no way Burton would pay the Brayford fee or his wages. I don't think JB would go back there either. Burton are run by a very sensible chairman in Ben Robinson, they've only ever paid 4 or 5 transfer fees in their entire history and there's no way if Clough even stays there that he'd "saddle" the club with a 3 year deal on 10-12k or so a week, just in case they go straight back down. This is not Sheffield United with an 18k average attendance and a wage budget to match.

What is more realistic? If NC gets the Forest job, unfortunately then the Bray would be gone in a flash.

and Justin Fashanu.

Clough it has been said, told Porterfield when United were interested in signing him, "You do know he's a Big Black Poof?"...
Not saying Brian was racist. But it wasn't the only time he called JF ... have a read of Clough's autobiography.

How is his value calculated? Looking at performance based over the last two full seasons he can't possibly be worth owt like what he was when we signed him on fee or wages. Surely he's affordable to Burton if they go up and in all honesty we've not missed him at all last couple of games.

Also he's a "personal friend" of Cloughie's by all accounts as well - it's got to be in our best interests now to get rid of all these vestigial remains from the Clough era and start anew.

His value is what we are prepared to sell him for

Oh god !!! That means Burton could afford the fee of £50, two packs of toffees, a shiny button and a promise of a friendly match .......

Thank goodness we don't over-complicate transfer negotiations by demanding a decent price for players we sell !!!

Yeah probably right. It was just that it dawned on me how much he must have gone down in value since we signed him, but maybe not in Cloughie's eyes. Still think Burton are gonna blow it, Walsall have better goal difference and looking at their run ins I think Walsall might just pip em.
