If I was Adkins tonight I'd use this as the final straw with this team we have nothing to play for and our reserves/u18s are on fire. I'd tell all out of contract players that their deals won't be extended and that they should find new clubs then I'd play the reserves/u18s for the last 7 games.

Gives them experience and a chance to show what they can do.

Lets be honest the writing was on the wall after the 4-0 defeat at Gillingham day one, and then came Adkins FFS - how the hell did he take Scunny up?

I honestly can't see where there is any hope in adkins at all.
He has shown nothing all season and his subs totally kill the game and it as if he doesn't know what he is doing. He still doesn't know his best team, he has done nothing to change it and he has brought one signing in that is worth keeping hold of in sharp the rest of them are useless.
He can't motivate the team and gives me very little hope for next season already. I don't agree with getting shut of managers all the time but I really am loosing all hope in adkins. I still can't believe with 7 games left we have never come back and won a game where we have gone behind in.

Other than Gary Megson, not sure of any manager I dislike that much that I would voice an opinion on a public forum that they should fuck up their reputation/potential, quit their current job and come and manage here.

If Adkins wants to salvage any relationship with the fans of our club he needs to cut out the abject positivity and realise a couple of things. We are not the plastics of Reading or the inbred simpletons of Southampton.

We are staunch Yorkshire men and women who are cynical by nature and who don't fall for the usual corporate style musings of his tenure so far.

Call a spade a spade and you'll gain our respect, call it a personal earth moving device and you'll gain nothing from us but scorn and mistrust. The fan base is huge when you take in to account our position and recent history, use it to your advantage, learn your customers values and use it to move the whole club forward.

The season was a transitional season with an outside chance of the play offs. When the pen was given and we missed the cup replay cash, that was all she wrote.If the club has serious doubts about Adkins, they need to jettison now and underwrite the cost of replacing him. It cannot seriously effect next season's budget or were screwed.

nopigfansintown I could just about accept that if I could see the slightest sign of what we are transitioning towards - but can anyone honestly see any suggestion at all that it will be better next season? We seem to need at least half a new team: are those players really going to arrive? Even Phipps said it would take at least three transfer windows....

To be honest I think its difficult for Adkins, although he hasn't helped himself. He inherited a lot of injury prone, unfit players and the publicly stated, yet deluded, remit of automatic promotion. I don't believe the club thought this realistic, and had already decided on relative austerity. Look at the players that have gone out of the door, and those that have come in - then factor in the old trafford money. He has only a few young players that are physically developed enough to play now, and play regularly, He has decided to start the great exodus early but in my view it should have started at the start of the season. The club should have been selling a two year plan at the start of this season, not sob stories mid season. We didn't and will be all but at the same stage of that plan at the start of next season, as short termism hasn't worked again.

I don't think Adkins could get Barcelona in the top 6. He'd be playing Messi at left-back, loaning out Suarez to Fleetwood and replacing Iniesta with Dean Hammond.
