Couple of things with this one for me is,
a, if he produces on the pitch I couldnt really care if he does nothing on the training field... after all we dont get three points for training...
b, replacing him with Sammon (who has done zero on the pitch in months makes no sense... , ala with Hammond) surely that send out the message "you can do nothing and get in the side..."
no wonder Adams is confused...
Whilst I agree with the sentiment of point A, ie all that matters is the producing on the pitch and 3 points. The reality is that if a player or any athlete for that matter does not train as required it is highly unlikely they will then put in an excellent performance on match day. The margins are so fine in any sport between winning and losing that an athlete simply has to put in the hard hours in training in order to produce.
