So how did the protest go?

Hi mate, thanks for coming, keep your eye out in case we get the go ahead to meet the board as everyone who made the effort to turn up will be invited to discuss what we want to ask the board and everyone can contribute. McCabe spoke on Saturday as a result of building unrest, whether the fans believe his words or not, at least he spoke as the silence has been deafening. One thing, the board is 100% split and he said it wasn't, I know he can't really say any different but once I heard that the rest of his words meant nothing.

Hiya mate, appreciate you getting this organised on Saturday, I only wish I could've stuck around longer.
To me, his statement brought up more questions than answers, but I expected as much.
I hope we do have the opportunity to raise our concerns directly in the near future.

It was a very contradictory interview with a lot of holes in it, he knows a lot of fans are at breaking point, season ticket sales will be down at least 25% and a huge summer lies ahead, the prince could also potentially pull out having put 13.8k in and seen nothing for his investment, if anything things have got a lot worse. A main figure at the club told me its the biggest 3 months in our history and I agree with that sentiment. I wrote a long letter to McCabe 3 months ago highlighting everything, past failures, lack of planning, structure, appointments, buying/employing players on their way down in the game, knee jerk decisions, running the club from afar but more importantly, a structured measured way forward for the future, he's wasted a hell of a lot of money then mentions how much he has allegedly put in.
One side of the board will speak to us in a meeting, we just need to get the other side to agree and we'll go from there, we need both sides to sit down otherwise there's no point, I'm really busy with work so don't come on here much so keep an eye out on twitter for updates. UTB

You can reply to this but I won't, I've read through your posts and to be honest your not worth the time.

In fairness to Damski, he has apologised for his original post.

Seriously, I'm glad you've taken the time to explain the general direction the protest will take and I agree with others who've said that waiting until promotion is mathematically impossible, that makes sense. My worry would be that we are where we are through incompetence and I'm not sure how the board can suddenly become competent.

Very shortly the SUFC will be sending out Season Ticket renewals, McCabe wants yer money

Every ticket sold means its £350 - 400 he dont have to find, I would imagine Kev is paying attention ............. at the moment

I reckon there'll be some additional incentive to renew early, before we're sure which league we'll be in. A temporary boycott, ignoring the offers, would lay down a marker. The problem with that is that it asks people who may not be easily able to afford a full price season ticket to make a financial sacrifice when they end up paying full price later.

I Agree, it is the lack of direction, planning, structure and knee jerk decisions that has led to us being where we are now. Will he change? I very much doubt that a 72 year old will suddenly change his ways but if we can coax change out of him we'll try. He says if someone is out there to take the club on then he'll talk, who will take on a club he over values due to the fact he's put all our assets in his name.

No problem with anyone making their money go further, just do it as late as possible

Did any of you actually go through with it? What did you do? Shoes off in the car park? Leave on 21 minutes? Shouting "BASTARDS" a few times at the director's box?

Well whatever you did, I watched the whole thing. We were better, only just, but we were better. Blades played a lot more directly and created chances. They scored with one. You'd have missed it if you were protesting. Billy Sharp bagged an absolute banging strike and we won 1-0. You'd have also missed the fine defensive display in the final 15 to keep a clean sheet when Vale were pressing for an equaliser that a few weeks ago (Swindon) we'd have conceded.

There was development. There was progress. In small ways. There's a lot of improvement to go before we're promotion material. But it was a good result. Now we're 7th, 4 points off the play-off pace. What are you lot protesting about, again?
