Don't know why anyone bothers with the summaries. Two pictures would suffice.

Seems to be a bit of a vicious circle at the moment

Ah! I wondered what Barney's second image meant...

Disgust/embarrassing/anger are words easily said about the tits at spotland, whether we have lost anything as a team due to the aforementioned i doubt it

Thick skin? We'd need a team of dinosaurs to deal with what they got on Saturday.

Oh...hang on.

Don't want to make light of it. It's a big problem and it is affecting our chances.

3-0 down at Wigan we were in it.

(Come to think of it 3-0 down at Swindon we were in it.)

2-0 down at Rochdale - having created and missed a hatful of chances - with a large number of fans abusing everyone and everything, we didn't stand a chance.

Playing the Devil's advocate slightly here, but at 3-0 down at Wigan the players got plenty of abuse (not from me i'll add), as well as being told that they weren't fit to wear the shirt.

Their response? Bang in 3 goals and draw 3-3. I'm not sure the fans are the biggest problem at the Lane right now and they certainly aren't the reason we're losing games, the plethora of average players are. Hopefully in the summer this will be resolved.

I think once the manager starts blaming the fans for performances or crap recruitment his days are numbered.
having not been to Rochdale or Gillingham I can't assess what impact it had on performance there, but I certainly haven't seen or heard owt at Bramall Lane that they shouldn't be able to handle. I want Adkins to get another season and a chance to sort the squad out but you have to wonder whether the relationship with the fans will have soured too much by then.

It's a story the Haters like to tell themselves. Doesn't make it true.

For an hour on Saturday we played our best sustained football of the season. But we missed chance after chance - maybe Che wasn't trying - and then the first shot on target we had conceded for two and a half hours went in.

The response was utterly disgusting abuse, violence, and intimidation of the team, individual players, the opposition, and other United fans - amongst others.

There's no excuse for what happened on Saturday. None at all.

There are issues in the team and throughout the club but as far as I can see they are gradually being addressed.

There are big problems in the crowd which are negatively impacting the club in many ways.

Is it the biggest challenge we face? I don't know.

I hope these can be successfully addressed too.

The manager and the players have my full support.

UTB

Do you not think we have played like fannies this season ? 9 points out of 10 games since the turn of the year is pretty poor IMO.
I see a team with hardly any fight (maybe except Wigan and Bradford away), no leadership, no bottle, sideways passes, no responsibility. Sharp I think is the exception. They haven't got a friggin clue what it should mean to put on our white and red stripes (see what i did there ? :))

I agree Rochdale seemed to be a watershed moment, the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. I don't condone it, and it's not going to help. I wasn't there but it wouldn't surprise me if it was pre-orchestrated.

Big problems in the crowd impacting the club ??? turn that one around 180 degrees i reckon.

One thing i hope i agree with you on, that we're slowly starting to address the issues. Let's revisit in a years time and see.

In the absence so far of an in depth summary two key points I picked out from it
1) he does expect to make a signing before the end of the emergency loan window (in fact says "we need to")
2) he is definitely saying that the crowd is having an effect on the players (says we need to find players who can have a "special mentality to deal with that")

Regards 2), Perhaps if we had the right players in the first place, there wouldn't be any need for players that have that "special mentality" because the fans wouldn't actually be on their backs

Herein lies part of the problem....
We never hear this sort of thing from Mr.Adkins.....

Speaking after the 2-1 victory over Brentford on Saturday, Warnock told Rotherham's official website:

"I want to get this place buzzing again, and it is, the lads are buzzing and so are the fans now – I am sure they’re looking forward to the games.”

Now maybe Adkins' plodding methodical methods will be more successful in the long run...but he might bore us all to death first.

Would that be the same Mester Adkins that was being criticised for being so positive earlier in the season? That's all but gone now anyway, you can see it in the whites of his eyes in the interviews.

I do miss Warnock though and I know what you mean.

Rochdale seemed to be a watershed moment, the proverbial straw that broke the camels back.

Problem is, we're seeing quite a few of these "straw that broke the camel's back" situations (Rochdale, Bury, Swindon, Shrewsbury, Crewe...) & the camel just keeps crawling along.

When Nige said he feared it'll get worse before it gets better, I doubt he had the crowd scenes at Rochdale in mind. But I doubt very much that's the last of it.

Its ok saying how god we were for an hour against Rochdale ,we weren't good for a single minute against Bury ,that was the low point football wise this season.

For me Wigan was like Swindon, we scored before anything kicked off. From memory at Wigan it was within a couple of minutes. And we just carried on playing as we had been doing. At Swindon most people were just shellshocked.

The players turned both those situations around.

Despite some of what is posted here they are working for the club.

Some of those at the matches are working against the club, and any success we have will be in spite of not because of them.

This is not all fans. Far from it.

It is worth saying that a fair few supporters got up a chant of Sheffield United amidst all the chaos of Saturday.

If we are adventurous again tomorrow night I think we could get taken to pieces. That could be very ugly indeed. We played well at their place and got a pretty comfortable 0-0. That might be the limit of our ambition tomorrow.

Managers such as Warnock and Bassett would absolutely relish the challenge of making up this four-point gap to the play-offs.

It'd be "like the Alamo". They'd be "throwing the kitchen sink at it" and bringing in players who could "hit a cow's arse with banjo".

Instead all the talk is about what will happen if we lose tomorrow night. The idea of catching Coventry feels about as likely as Champions League qualification.

Something "game changing" needs to happen, or someone significant needs to arrive, very soon to shake us out of this. Otherwise we're sleepwalking towards a mid-table finish when there are 39 points still to play for.

Bless their little cotton socks.

The nasty fans are being naughty to them and Daddy Adkins is trying to protect them. The poor, defenceless souls.

We should stop them from turning up so nobody can have any hurt feelings

Oh, judging by the way they are playing, maybe that's the plan?

And there you have it, from the Premier League to hoping for nil nil at home to Burton in less than a decade.

Well done Mcabe.

Not heard the actual wording of his interview but in such matters he does need to pick his words carefully.

If he's generalised "the crowd" suggesting everyone me, Mrs Jelly and sons are at fault rather than addressing a mindless few piss heads he is at risk of alienating everyone as undisreable hooligans.

And I find paying to watch shite football played by a bunch of softies and being classified as part of the issue unacceptable.

Wonder if we will get an emergency loan in before the game? If not I'd consider recalling McNulty if that were possible

We tried but..
Our target went to premier league...
Everyone is working hard but...

Is there a link to this interview?

Whilst I totally condemn the actions of the mindless morons last Saturday it is up to the players to turn the situation around !
The players are supposed to be professional footballers, paid to do a job (paid very well might I add) - they have chosen that profession !
I could never imagine a Bassett or Warnock side being fearful of the crowd shouting nasty words to them !
Go out there and show the true Blade supporters what you are made of and also make the morons choke on their own vile words !
