Last away game. Scored in the next home game against Orient making it 10 goals in seven consecutive games.

5-2, that night....what we would do for that now.
Even though they went ahead ,you just knew we would win ,it was a great night ,when he scored he came really close to where I was to celebrate and I thought I had a great picture and it just looked like a load of yellow blobs ( a bit like we do now :) ) Last time I bothered with an action shot , I would rather watch anyway ,leave it to Foxy.

Yes there is some possibility we might snatch that last play off spot, but we'll have to ping our hopes on a couple of loan signings which we don't seem to know if the board are going to actually sanction any. Also, hopefully Florent Cuvelier can help turn us into a slightly better and consistent team but maybe I'm expecting too much of him too soon after being injured for about 90% of his time here. But if he can stay fit and NA continues to play him which I see no reason not to, he will be like a new luxury signing imo.

We also shouldn't forget Coventry and Bradford both have a game in hand on us with Coventry already 4 points ahead, while Bradford are level with us.

Question you've got to ask is are we better than Coventry, they've had a better start to the season and have faltered recently but that may have just been a blip.

Another one is will those out of contract in the summer be giving it 100%, especially seen as the majority of them won't be offered renewals anyway.

its worth chasing till its mathematically impossible
all we can ask is they give it a go
no matter how gash its been so far , its still open as a possibility and dafter things have happened

They (should) go out to win every game so it doesn't matter whether you're chasing a target or not. Tbh, there's no pressure on us now and it's the likes of Burton, Gillingham, Walsall who will feel the pressure here on in. Whether the team can play with no pressure is another matter.

4 goals before HT away from home and we did the same a few weeks before at Notts County. That's what Sheffield United should be doing in League One.

I've mentioned it before but the 2nd half of that season reminded me of the 4th division season when we just knew we would win regardless of what happened. Chedgate aside, if he hadn't been sent down and we'd gone up (which would have happened), it would have been interesting to see what could have happened with that squad. Obviously Ched may have moved on anyway but another fine line we ended up being the wrong side of.

If we should find ourselves in a Wembley play-off final - I have trouble as I am away that weekend playing chess in France.

If I don't make the effort to get back for Sunday afternoon - we will win.

If I break my neck to get back we will lose.

What a dilemma?

HH

I don't understand why that makes it a bad league ,everyone is still playing for the same amount of points from the get go (soz).
Regarding still chasing the dream ,2 years ago we were about 50 points off the play off with 4 games to and some thought we would make it :)

Remember that one Sitters. Was the season the FA awarded us 13 points for a win but only for 4 games mind as extra compo for the Tevez affair.

Bet that makes riveting commentary....tick tock, tick tock, check.....I just resort to playing against the computer. :)

I think I've been mesmerised by the crap football on offer into thinking we are nowhere near the top of the table. If it wasn't for Billy and his 'grind out' goals and general contribution, we would be where our play deserves us to be and closer to the bottom.

We will make the play offs Im sure but teams like Gillingham just want it more than 90% of our players. Sad but I predict a play off semi final defeat a la the Yeovil season.

Next season the league will be harder, this really was our year but the decision to sell Murphy has placed too much on Billy and Che hasn't come on as such as the promise of last season offered.

Time for a long hard look at what is needed by the Board. This years strategy hasn't worked. Up to you lads, surely you can't be happy with where we are and how we are playing?

We've only had two winning streaks this season. We won four in a row in August and three in a row in December. Apart from that we've failed to win two consecutive matches all season.

We've also only won one match against the top seven - Coventry at home. And one match against the bottom four - Colchester away.

To sum up, we're excellent against mediocre teams but struggle against good teams and shit teams.

Except we've also lost to Peterborough, Port Vale and Bury from the middle of the table too.

Basically, we're just very average and go into most games roughly likely to win as lose.

Can't see why being out of contract in the summer will adversely affect a professional footballers performance
I would have thought it would incentivise a player to either put himself in the shop window or impress the boss.

Logically it should but in reality it's not always the case. You'd think Berahino would be busting a gut to get other teams to bid what West Brom want for him but he appears disinterested.
If I was out of contract at the end of the season my first aim would be to ensure I didn't pick up any injuries.

No
Don't be bloody silly Bill. This is the play offs we are talking about not some fancy dan cup semi final
Yep I had forgotten that aspect.

Great to see they turned up against Hull after I came back from abroad three times to see them, or rather not see them, against Burnley Wolves and Palace. UTB

A bit like Preston Bill, we are long overdue something to cheer about at Wembley. They finally got there's last year. Surely ours can't be that far away now

It will help our chances of the play-offs if Port Vale hold or beat Southend tonight. In fact it's important.

Having done the review of our squad the other day I wonder why I am still interested frankly. Habit and eternal hope. Whilever there's a chance and all that.

Weve had a shocker of a season but yet remarkably are still in with a chance of promotion, a couple of loan signings that are gunnar give us a lift just when we need it &one never knows. ................how many times have we had a decent season and its filtered into fuck all, football is weird like that.We could worry about whether this bunch could compete higher if miraculously we scraped up.
UTB

I am fucking sick to the bastard back teeth of this cunting division - it is fucking horse shit, in terms of spending we've apparently spent 8 million fucking quid to be here let that sink in 8 MILLION !!!!!

I doubt anyone in this division has spent a quarter.

We are 7th and will lose tomorrow and maybe scrape a fucking point at home to Burton.

No one can dress it up nicely it is a fucking absolute disgrace!
