Well done, you've given me the opportunity to state the opinion that ....

he's probably our 3rd best striker

should be on our bench every week, coming on and getting the odd goal, alternatively we could have Sammon instead

With the number of scuffed/missed chances today, I would have to agree that he should be on our bench at least

I struggle to see how/where McNulty would fit in?

Do we play him instead of Sharp? Done? Adams?

Yes today he may have started over DCL but I honestly don't see who will miss out of the squad to accommodate him.

Could he be back with us to score the winner in the playoff final ..... Now that would be some story

Sammon?

Apparently he was dropped in favour of Smith, much to the consternation of the supporters before the match - however, the move worked well for Pompey and was acknowledged as such by fans. McNulty came on as sub and scored with his one chance - described as a "natural finisher" on the Pompey boards.

ps Doyle getting rave reviews, "captain fantastic". Davies too. Not Freeman.

pps apparently they tried to get Scougall in the transfer window according to their boards

We now know League 2 is their level.

McNulty's Blades record in league games: 12 starts, 24 sub appearances, 10 goals. That's 0.28 goals per game.

thats pretty good in league one. It's also better than Conor Sammon's record (5 goals in 24 starts and 9 sub appearances).

Oi!

Piss off with your 'according to the boards' shit.

I get mine from the back pages of the Pompey fackin' Liar, that's what.

Stop muscling in on my 'our man in Musherland' schtick, eh? :)

Doesn't fit into a 442 alongside Billy, and has been average up front on his own for us. We also have Done whose similar, so don't reallly get the hand wringing over Sparky.

explain why he doesn't fit into a 2 up top with Billy when he hasn't been tried?

Agreed, he was average up top for us (as a stand in when o'grady/davis/ et al weren't available). He has never been played up top on his own for Livingston and Cook doesn't play him up top on his own, but in a 2.

Just an opinion, but if we now have no money available, Mcnulty will be back next season to play with our other kids - if all the rumours we hear are true.
