I
explain why he doesn't fit into a 2 up top with Billy when he hasn't been tried?

Agreed, he was average up top for us (as a stand in when o'grady/davis/ et al weren't available). He has never been played up top on his own for Livingston and Cook doesn't play him up top on his own, but in a 2.

Just an opinion, but if we now have no money available, Mcnulty will be back next season to play with our other kids - if all the rumours we hear are true.

I don't think he's particularly good with his back to goal, quick or that good in the air. His best attributes are his movement, passing (link play) and finishing. He also has good feet. For me Sharp, Mcnulty and Done are much of a muchness, but Done and Sharp have attributes that should be more complimentary (Done's pace, Sharp's hold up play and decent aerial presence). I completely understand why he'd loan one of Mcnulty and Done out, with Mcnulty costing the least and needing game time to develop - it seems the logical choice. I rate all three as good goal poachers at this level. You could argue we didn't need Sharp.

Good response - although I would argue that Done is completly and utterly not worth the alleged money we paid for him.
All I ask of Mcnulty, is that he is given a chance - everyone else has and even if he is a bit of a nob, Adkins is the fella to sort him out - or so they say.
I would also argue we didn't need Sharp, but Adkins needed Sharp in the same way Adkins needs Hammond. Sharp and Hammond are Adkins generals on the pitch.

I'd agree with that. All managers need people they can trust. On Done, he doesn't use his pace well enough. He doesn't run in behind back fours -he runs laterally. His pace is only effectively used when he's closing defenders down (an aspect Mcnulty can improve), not when we have the ball. He's not stretching back fours well enough because of this. Donny's back four was so deep on Saturday due to their fear of Che running in behind. The same with our centre backs when up against strikers who run in behind. Done's only recently converted into being a striker though, with the right coaching he might improve in this area.
