Still phuckin here then, and in the first team no less. Breaks my heart every time he puts on the shirt, I would've been satisfied with no signings in this JTW if only we'd got rid of him but nah.
6 years and he's still here leeching away, strange as well cus usually when someone's in the last few months of their contract they tend to get a few offers.

24 years a fan and in terms of players who've played more than 100 games for us, he's the worst I've ever seen.

I can't stand the sight of this player and if you've seen the way he shouts at everyone around him whenever we concede (as opposed to just before we concede when he's gawking aimlessly, ball watching and failing to organise his defence), you'll realise he's not even got a good attitude to at least attempt to make up for being such a shocking centre half, even at league 1 level.
Counting down the days till he leaves, will be the first time this club has raised a cheer out of me for a long time.

Hi Cloughie, hows it going at Burton?

I don't know about his attitude. It's not great on the pitch but his interviews last season when he was out of the team, and one after he'd scored the winner against someone, I've never heard a player with more genuine emotion in his voice. It's hard to have much ill will to a player who seems to understand what the shirt means. But then, it's even harder to support a player who's so far short of being good enough.

But don't worry, Phipps says it's a good thing that we didn't panic buy.

Get ready for the 1 year extension, because it is coming! Captain marvel will also be retained. No further investment from the current owners will dictate this and other mind blowing decisions.

Yes we will be in this league for another 4 years under the current management running this great club they haven't got a f...... Clue you got to laugh Liverpool type investment lol more like Accrington Stanley make you sick

I agree with the op, I went to blackpool and Collins was embarrassing I watched him pull out of a tackle then blame someone else near him. The sooner we get shut the better, I will also say the same about long jmac and Edgar none are good enough.
To not bring a any defenders in when it is clear for all to see that they cannot stop the ball going in the net is criminal. The atmosphere at bl for the rest of the season is going to be poisonous.

Been saying this for while now, what on earth makes anybody think we won't retain the 1st choice centre half in the summer, taking into account how impossible it is to sign a replacement for maguire...

You do remember Maguire don't you, tall lad, could head and tackle, bring the ball out of defence, yeah.. That's him, been gone ages...

I remember him sprinting down the tunnel at half time of the Shrewsbury match after one of the worse half's I have ever seen. He didn't come back out and thought that's him done thank God, to then see him run out against walsall the game after was stunning.
For whatever reason the guy is fire proof, I don't care how many games he has played he is one of the worse defenders I have ever seen pull on a blades shirt.

I think your statement is harsh on Collo, personally. Yes we all know that Collins is not one of the better players and I'm sure we'd like an upgrade on Collo, but he's not the only one that you can say that for. If Collins, or Edgar for that matter, had someone better alongside them then I'm convinced that both said players would look better because the new, a better centre half (lets call him Dan Burn) would compensate for a lesser quality partner. Anyone who's played sport knows that if you play alongside someone much better than you that you are able to raise your own standards because you are able to feed off the quality of the guy next to you. Sadly as it stands you can only have so many average players in your team, before the whole team starts to look average. That's what we have now.

Collins will be gone in the summer and the reason he's still here is because we haven't recruited, so naturally he'll stay till then. Blame the board if anyone not Collins. Yes he does shout at others after goals, but maybe that just shows he cares as much as some will say he's blaming others when he's doing it. I think Collins has served us generally well over the years and particularly under Maguire who was the type who was able to life Collins game.

In my view, what we needed as a bare minimum was somebody to replace Collins in the starting XI. Yes, we need pace and quality in a couple more areas, but I saw this as the top priority.

If I'm being considerate and attempting to apply some kind of context to the situation, I'd say that it probably is extremely difficult to lure players from the league above to (possibly) take a pay cut and come ply their trade in this shit division. We're not quite the draw we used to be after lingering down here for half a decade. I'd also suggest that although there are many CB's better than Collins in this division, they might not be good enough for the league above should we get promoted, in which case we'd again have someone in the reserves on a healthy wage not playing first team football. I know it's a stretch to even mention the word promotion, but it's been said time and time again that we're only looking for players of good quality and it's possible that even if a club from our division was willing to sell (it might be a crap league, but it's as competitive as any), it could be viewed as something of a sideways step and a move completed for the sake of it. It's all a juggling act and it's a fine line between fans being happy and saying that money has been wasted.

That's me being as considerate and understanding as I can possibly be. Now the flipside.

We're meant to be going for promotion, as has been reiterated by the staff at the club numerous times. Adkins said the squad wasn't good enough and he's been proved right. We're in touch with the chasing pack for the play-offs and it would've been the right time to snap up two or three signings and make a real push. To not sign a single player is a fucking disgrace, to be frank. People have gone on loan and four have left for good; that frees up enough finances for a Collins replacement at the very least. Perhaps a deal couldn't be reached, perhaps the fee was too high, yada yada...the fact is that Collins is still in our starting XI which means we will concede goals, because he's not good enough.

I hate to single out one player so much. It used to be McEveley, but Harris took his spot. Then, when Harris got injured and McEv returned, he seemed to find some kind of form and competence down the back of the sofa and Im happy to say the lad has done much better. But at every game I go to I do not feel confident when Collins has the ball. He makes me nervous. If he makes a spectator nervous, imagine how a teammate feels!

Won't he be due a testimonial soon?
Fucking hell. Imagine that.

A testimonial of Neill Collins' past teammates and friends is bound to drag at least 20 people into BL.

I can just imagine Harry Maguire being dragged back to play with that fucker again out of misplaced loyalty...

Sums it up, I like Collins for what seems to be a genuine love for the club, but the fact of the matter is he's crap. Even McEveley is a class above him.

This is the guy that 'fans' were clamoring to bring back last season !
He is a liability full stop and his attitude on the pitch is disgraceful - his 'genuine love for the club' will cease the moment he finally walks out of the door !!!

Get off his feckin back. Might not be the most gifted CB but not as bad as some make out. Think a lot of fans vent their anger for others sins on him both on and off the pitch. He puts in a shift and IMO we would have had a crack at promotion last season if he had been utilised.

Supprised hes still there never liked him as a player always likely to make a mistake & slower than me!!!!
