Why Adkins continually said "we need to stay in touch until January"? I realise not all deals come off but for him to say it in almost every interview for about 2 months clearly means he thought something fairly big was going to happen but here we are with the same bunch of players.

The entire strategy of the club seems to have changed in the space of a month. From saying the Murphy money would be spent on the team to suddenly going on about how we would have to reduce the squad before we buy. I'm not knocking the reduction of the squad but it was never mentioned as being of the utmost importance up until about October. Around that time all we heard was how big the squad was when nobody had made much of an issue about it before so.

Something has happened at the club. Either a totally new plan was drawn up when we went on our dismal run around October or, more likely, there has been a disagreement between the two owners that has seen the financial situation change. Either way whilst I welcome the departure of all the players we have let go, to bring nobody in at all surely suggests that this season has been all but written off at board level.

Maybe be we are moving the club to attercliffe and turning Bramall Lane into the new Chinatown of Sheffield.

I said on another site, to write this season off in September/October 15, however I didn't realise at the time that we could write off the 2016/17 season as well, because that is what is coming, unless something drastic happens!!!

The prince I am sure will see his investment as money wasted and it would not surprise me if he is currently looking for an exit.
Mccabe will continue to run the football club with seemingly short term vision. his management had overseen the worst period in our football clubs history with us wallowing in our lowest league position. Something has to change , for the sake of the club I hope it us him and he and his family acknowledge the mess that they have created and walk away as there is now no one else left to blame.

He's taking the piss
He's taking the list
Kevin McCabe
He's taking the piss

It's clear Adkins has had the rug pulled from under him as well.

A manager trying to sign players does not watch an U-21 game on the last day of the transfer window, It should have been obvious but it seemed to daft to credit it.

It's crazy isn't it.

What I don't understand is that even if the owners weren't willing to front up any money for transfers, then surely we have 1.5 million from Murphy and approx. 1 million from the FA Cup, so should have 2.5 million available. Plus additional income that comes with pulling in 19,000+ fans every week in division 3!!

I know we have a large squad, but surely we can't have been so stupid as to repeat the mistakes of 2008-2011 and over spend on wages so much that we don't have any cash left over.

I'm astounded that business men who are multi millionaires, as well as "local" business men working underneath them cannot effectively run SUFC as a business. And then continually make the same mistakes year upon year, decade after decade.

Murphy money was to be. " invested " in the team.

It has been, on Hammond and Sammons wages.

As investments go..........

Perhaps we'd have seen investment if we actually were in touch with the top two?

As it is, we still should make the playoffs given a couple of loans....

Maybe the board have gazumped him with false promises of taking the club forward and the right backing. Adkins must surely now know what a bunch of useless unambitious Twats the board members are.

At least we've got a really nice pitch. And a Bladey Blade as one of the owners.

Don't know what folks are complaining about really.

A pitch now seemingly a waste of money. Is it only six or seven months ago that us getting a Desso before the grunters was the biggest topic on here?

But Sammon was already here and Phipps stated that the Murphy didn't need to be sold meaning we should have theoretically had extra money to play with.

Lots of contradictions at the club at the moment. I think we would all just rather be told "We are skint, we've blown the money on shite and we are doing what we can to re-organize the club".

No (or very few football clubs) make any sort of business sense. They have become the play things of the very rich or (slightly wealthy in our case). McCabe wouldn't have anything to do with united if he wasn't a "fan'. I do believe we have tried to invest (Done, Sharp and Brayford) but its half hearted and we needed to really go for it we've had 5 seasons trying to get out "on the cheap" but it just doesn't happen. We should be buying up the best talent in this division a la Wolves not taking a chance on old players dropping down the divisions on loan it hasn't worked for 5 seasons now. There obviously was a footballer in Hammond at some put that has now completely evaporated and I'm convinced we will be making a substantial contribution his wages. Im sure signing 3 or 4 hungry young players form this league is a much better option its also less risky as you haven't put all your eggs in one basket. I just hope and pray we use the loan market effectively and try to get young premiership talent needing game time as opposed to our usual trick of giving in last pay cheque to knackered old pros.

His wages need to be paid. It was double speak and many posted with that view.

We are skint. For whatever reason no more money seems to be going in but I can't see anyone at BL admitting they've made yet another cock up. Admitting to reorganising puts the blame at the boards door when they've done their best to blame Clough and Brannigan for everything.
