It's a fair point, though please put it down to clumsy phrasing. Just to clarify, it was memorable because I was doing it right

I know. It's smart ! It's like Joyce or Faulkner. Or very early Pink Floyd. Or a particularly memorable Hawkwind gig I went to in 1983.
It's a fair point, though please put it down to clumsy phrasing. Just to clarify, it was memorable because I was doing it rightAh, the mighty 'Wind.
Must have been good 'cos Nik Turner had rejoined by then. I had to wait until 1984 myself - still memorable.
Sometimes it's as if it's two people posting though. You get a coherent post - even if you don't agree - and an analysis of what he's thinking and then at other times its batshit mental statements that if were written down on paper would be in multi coloured crayon that defy all logic.
I've just done a mock-up of a new kit for next season - would anyone like to see it?

Bloody hippies![]()
I'm tempted to flounce in response to that, but instead I'm gonna buck that trend by respectfully suggesting that, depending on what period Hawkwind we're talking about, Brock's heroes have been anarcho-prog-space-rock-grunge-drone-trance-metal-punks, but never "hippies". Hawkwind are generally far too lovable, and far too switched on, to be hippies. In a rational universe Dave Brock, Bob Calvert and probably Huw Lloyd Langton, would be revered national treasures.
Tho the bloke on the theremin, and the chap who used to show up at gigs dressed as a green wizard, might test the patience of the silent majority.
Oops, I'm hijacking Vorpal's attempt to hijack this hijack thread again![]()
It would be as catastrophic as typing 'google' into Google. The interweb would disappear up its own arse. What would happen if someone accidentally deleted the Internet?
That bloke on the theremin is none other than Tim Blake, although I have to say I preferred him when he was in Gong and originally in Hawkwind on Levitation just playing his Crystal Machine synth.
I've tried to pick out constructive dissenters and Ignore the haters and the miserati. There is a danger of only hearing one side but ask yourself how often the person you're considering Ignoring has posted something that adds to the debate, and take it from there.
I'd pick out alcoblade as an example of someone I often disagree with but who clearly has high standards for the club, and has taught me a thing or two

Ohhhhh nooooooooo he doesn't......That was a waste of time, #alcoblade has you on ignore.![]()

Yeah, I was being disrespectfully flip. Blake is a star, though I've heard him referred to by the uninitiated as "that smelly looking hippy", etc.
Levitation would be in my top 10--possibly top 5--Desert Island albums. It is a perfect thing. And that several CD box set, with the remaster of the album and the live set, is just exquisite![]()

The clamshell box is indeed the best thing ever, although I rather like my blue vinyl version too.
I have the same blue vinylIt's probably one of the reasons I fell in love with the album in the first place. That and Huwie's cosmic, out Gilmouring Gilmour guitar work. Shit, I think I know every note of that damn record. I've been playing it for so long it feels like it's part of my bones.
How good to hear Brock on the radio recently, talking warmly about Comrade Kilmister. Did you catch any of that ?
Pixels on screens isn't real football.
Did you go to the Coronet last month with Steve Hillage guesting? That bloke on the theremin is none other than Tim Blake, although I have to say I preferred him when he was in Gong and originally in Hawkwind on Levitation just playing his Crystal Machine synth.
Did you go to the Coronet last month with Steve Hillage guesting?
Shame, it was something special. No, I was actually in Sheffield at the Haze Christmas Gig.
