Players in mainly. Because there's been a lot more of them, which is why the squad is so overrun with such little talent. But it's never going to help to consistently sell your best players every season either.
That's where you and I disagree. I'd say selling players who are gifted - and we are talking a sliding scale of gifted here from the all round ability and England-captain world of Phil Jagielka through the midfield tyranny of Michael Brown right the way down (and it is long, long drop right the way down) to Jamie Murphy via Blackman, Lowton and Maguire has knackered this club. If we are expected to believe that relegation from the Premier League had such a financially deleterious effect on the club (parachute payments and Tevez included) that we basically have a fire sale every season of upward talent and you say that is less net efffect than four non-starters this season then I say no. One is aconsequence of the other. We didn't sign shit players when we had good players. We signed shit players because we lost the good players. Why did we sign shit players? Because despite the wonderful proclamations on here that 'the board have backed the manger', the proof is out there on the pitch. Its all three goals by Peterborough. It's the four disastrous goals against Gillingham. It's last seasons embarrassments against lesser clubs. It's our continued malaise and existence in the third teir of English football. It's me and you arguing. It's The Blades Way. It's McCabe and his inability to do anything right anymore.
