At 0:17 and 1:21 refers to us as "Sheffield" I can almost cope with the average man using "Sheffield" as both us and Wednesday have now been out of the top flight for so long. But this is a new low to have one of our own players call us "Sheffield" get rid! The interviewer even tries his best to call us Sheffield United at every given opportunity.

... or is he acknowledging that there's only one team in Sheffield?

Yes it does rankle with me as well. It seems to be worse when said with a southern accent. Even Man Utd fans who claim that there's only "One United" don't call us just "Sheffield".
But I suspect it will only change when us and Wendys are doing well at the same time higher up the leagues.

I won't hold it against him however I must admit that when I watched the interview via the OS, it really grinded at me when I heard him refer to us as simply "Sheffield".

What do you expect? He's just another mercenary, milking the cash cow that is Uniteds wage bill. Like most other cunts in the squad.

He has lovely blue eyes. Not as deep as Mark Howard's though who looks like he's staring into your soul when you speak to him

With any luck this will wind the pigs up more than it has some of our own supporters.

Personally I think it sounds odd but it doesn't bother me too much. More focused on him as a player and hoping that he keeps improving and shows us the player that has achieved 3 promotions.

I've never understood why anyone would call us Sheffield though. Fine for Leeds, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea etc.... But to me we're United or the Blades, i wonder if all the players talk about us as Sheffield?

Dyou know who else does that sometimes? Warnock, and it drives me mad

Given that he is a professional footballer, we should be grateful that he can string a sentence together and knows which city he plays football in.

Global warming will have made the planet uninhabitable by then

Sun wasn't going to get in his eyes were they , like a chuffin sombrero

His manager said "if tha wants to get ahead get a hat lad" :D - seriously sunstroke was a big issue even then (if only Harry had worn one eh?). Of course we now use their ground for the Academy. Interesting article on work based clubs with a reference to the facilities at Roe Woods back in the day - http://chrisolewicz.com/2012/07/28/football-in-worktown/

Never upsets me United being referred to as Sheffield. We are the only Sheffield club, play in the city centre, close to the Sheffield river 'Sheaf', unlike them tossers who play at Owlerton, next to the Doncaster river 'Don' and for years didn't have Sheffield in their name.

Unfortunately if the pigs do get promoted to the big league, they will automatically become "Sheffield" by default.
