As it turned out I was on the road by 8:30ish and soon had a lift from a lovely Polish family who didn't seem to mind me snoring my head off on the back seat of their car.

From there it was Toddington, Tube, bus, home, and sleep. zzzz

Bugger - we went passed there about 01:15 on the way back to the Midlands after a curry in Rusholme - could have given you a lift if we had seen you - at least as far as Brum (we take the M5 from there)
