How on earth have you come to this conclusion? At what point did he become a 'big time Charlie'? From everything I've seen & heard from him, he's a hard working level headed character who understands he's still learning his trade. You sure you're not thinking about Baxter or McNulty?
"A long way to go and he needs to pick it up. Apart from scoring he hasn't as yet developed an all round game. If he doesn't score, his overall contribution is poor."
This is the biggest load of shit I've ever read on this forum. Aside from the fact Che has played a TOTAL of 32 professional games of football (league & cup... Some of those being as a substitute), he's currently our second highest goal scorer whilst being played, out of position, as a winger. You cannot expect a 19 year old with less than a season of professional football to have 'developed an all round game'.
Che is potentially the best young player we've had on our books since Walker & Naughton. He needs support from our coaching & development staff as well as from the terraces to properly progress as a footballer & people lambasting him for not having an 'all round game' at 19 is rediculous.
Sorry for that my mouse attacked me.
Have to say that if you think it's "the biggest load of shit" you've ever read on this forum, you haven't been giving it much of a whirl so far.
Firstly, I'm not saying he's a bad player at all. What I actually said was, "he's a good prospect" but he's got some distance to go and some developing to do - particularly so of his all round contribution including, his support for other players. I suppose I was also questioning what level he'll finish up at, and I suppose of that only time will tell.
One thing is for sure, as a young player hopefully on the way up he needs to have the right people around him, he needs to employ the right attitude and he needs to apply himself 100%, all of the time. I hear / understand [from some 'night people' here and in Nottingham] that in relation to this aspect of his life there is room for improvement, 19 or otherwise. Didn't Adkins not play him a few weeks back for a breach of rules regarding drinking?
Goals yes, it's a reasonable ratio [although 2nd highest out of a pretty poor lot doesn't amount to a hill of beans]. This seasons total is thus far ok, but nothing to get overly excited about. I think it's 7 so far and as he's bagged a brace twice, I think he's therefore scored in 5 games - don't know how many starts he's had, you can no doubts tell me? I know he hasn't scored in something like the last six which is a disappointment. At the same time, his overall contribution to the game [IMO] has been short of where it needs to be - winger or otherwise.
Anyways, lets hope that he does become the player he can be and let's hope the board don't sell him to Tottenham in the meantime eh.
