think that's why WHF said "6 seasons. 82 games ", he hasn't included those first few seasons in his figures. And on just looking at the last 3 it's only 17 a season. Hope he can get a run together though.
He,s only 23 so that takes him back to when he was an academy graduate so those first few season stats are misleading

Thought he had a decent game and didn't look injured when he came off. In the second half he was tripped in the area - looked a definite penalty to me and it certainly wasn't a dive - but who would have taken it?

That's the run I was talking about earlier. I thought it was a trip too, it was another one where he really had no reason to fall over and there looked to be contact.

Great to see him back in the team. Hopefully he can stay fit and get a run in the first team because I think he's just what we need in midfield. The few times I saw him play last season, I was impressed. Don't know what his ongoing injury problems are (knees?) but maybe he needs a different 'regime' to the other players.

I heard he wore one of these at Fleetwood?

(Which, if he lasted 70-odd minutes, is all good.)

We can't sit on our hands waiting for the Flo's and Wallace's of the squad to be fit for one or two games a season.

Many midfielders to choose from but very few fully fit.

true but 17 games a season average in the last 3 seasons tells a similar story unfortunately.

Don't you think them stats are a bit misleading Mr Foulkes.the first few Seasons are when he was a young professional and he would not get much chance at 1st team level he probably played for there development squad but how often we don't know. Since Leaving Everton he has
Had a terrible time with injuries, that does, not mean he,s a crock,at 23 he is very young to write off personally I think he will come through this period and become a real player and if we release him some other club will take him and get the benefits. He has everything a midfield player needs to be succesful (perhaps score more goals ?) Get him through this frustrating time for him (we fans also) and potentially we have a player who could go all the way with us to the premier league.
Don't think that they are at all misleading. I check him over a few months back now and in the supporting text, he has had long periods when he has been crocked throughout.

A number of his loan moves were terminated early because of injury and he was returned. Apart from Tranmere where he enjoyed his longest, injury free period, ongoing groin problems, calve and thigh strains and ankle problems have dogged his career to date. I think it was something like 74 league appearances since 2009 and he didn't finish a third of these games either. They are very worrying stats for the young lad.

I have to be up front with you and confess that I'm not a huge fan of his. That said, I'm not by any means anti him either. I think I've seen all the games he's played for Utd in the first team, but I just don't think he's the player that some folk on here think he is. For me he's played well enough in some games, he's even been good, but then again in other games he's been a bit of a lightweight. At the end of the day it's hard to judge as he's only played something like 13 times for us (starting and off the bench) and finished I don't know how many?

Hope I'm wrong about his obvious talent and you are right (for the sake of Utd) but can you really build a team around a dream?

I dug out those stats in response to alco's(?) post about Wallace maybe doing enough to get a new contract and then disappearing. Again.

Given that record - and the fact that he doesn't finish many of the games he starts imo he would have to be Zidane without the tantrums before we offer him a contract.

I hope he lives long and prospers but atm retaining him looks like throwing good money after bad.

I was talking to a lad who knows baxter and wallace well
Says jose is a real talent but not surprised about his drugs ban given the company he keeps and that wallace is also a great player who if fully fit would be top level

My father used to say his boss told him when he started work - " It doesn't matter how good you are, if you are not here for work you are no good to me". He might be Lionel Messi but if he's not available to play he might just as well be Lionel Blair.
