The mother in law was throwing a TV and video so before it went to the tip i thought I'll use it to look at the wedding video and the ones of the kids. As I was rummaging in the box I found a tape marked THE BLADES !!!!! Put it in and F##king soldier soldier. As I was just going to stop it a 30 second clip of Peter Anderson (bad sound quality) scoring I think against either Sunderland or Leicester. The best or one of the best goals I've seen for united. If best or anyone else had scored it would have being a wonder goal.can anyone else remember it?

Dummied the keeper, let the ball run past him then knocked it in. Great goal.

Oh yes. I was there and remember it well. A big, noisy following from Sunderland..... and Sabella at the top of his game. As I recall Peter Anderson was a handy player (horrendous perm). I think he left at the end of that season and went to the US. In fact.... I seem to recall that we brought him in from an American club.....

Anyway - a great game that one and a fine 3-2 for the Blades.

But where you there when some of us saw 'a quality goal from a quality player'? Oh for some of that quality today................

Another 3-2 win if I remember correctly?

Kin el, I'd forgotten what it was like to have a good side. Don't see 3 goals that good in a season at this level let alone one match, :(

Yes I was there Vicar...... and, believe it or not that 3-2 win against West Ham was my first ever game at BDTBL! I thought that every game would be like that. Summat went a bit wrong after that.........

Michael Owen got the idea for his goal against Argentina from watching that.

If you look close enough at replays of Owens goal, you can clearly see him say `What would Peter Anderson do now?`, when he picked up the ball, the Argies can`t have watched MOTD in the Seventies.

That side was the first United side to be relegated from the 2nd tier :-(

I was standing amongst the Sunderland fans that day - our old shareholder disk used to give you a free standing place on the Bramall Lane End, which made life interesting at times!!

That goal featured on the video '101 Great Goals' which was one of my favourite football videos as a kid. I think the footage was from Match of The Day which you could tell by their lack of goals from the mid 80s during the football 'blackout'
