Sad news. RIP Howard.
Probably the best football seen in his short time at the lane since the seventies. Favorite memory - Patterson to Whitehouse to Veart. Blades 1: Arsenal 0 in the cup.
That was the start of a great undefeated run up the table from bottom. Great memories.
I went to that leicester game ,they got booed off at the endI'm sure a few here will have been at the first game at Ipswich. Bit of an eye opener and people played out of position, Blake off at H/T. Assembled a tidy side to stave off relegation. Remember going to Leicester and beating them and the locals weren't happy. Thank you Howard Kendall for treating us to seeing Gordon Cowans
I remember the 1st home game that season,an exciting 4-4 v Birmingham,3 days later a 4-1 win v the pigs(steel city challenge trophy!)My first season down at the lane was the 96/97 season. Good times and just a shame we didn't manage it in the final. The man who brought Fjortoff to the Lane.
