The face I can see looks like Martin Kuhl but I can't tell the other guy from this angle.

Have to admit I'm better at faces than arses. And if I've got Kuhl wrong, I'm still better at faces than arses

Kuhl :-)

Must have been in our 3-2 win there on 10/10/87

I'm still no good at arses - despite killing Walthy's game in 8 minutes.

Having said that - I knew it was Kuhl and Barnsley was an educated guess. Right era, centre half, we eere crap (yes, even then) and CB was still a fecking problem

Silent on the button, again :)

From the same game -

Here's a name these Blades for the older contributors - proper pre-season training seventies style :D

Looks like Graves Park in summer 1972.

Trevor Hockey, David Ford, might be Ken Wood who was a strong local runner and often took the squad on punishing runs in the 1970s, ??, Frank Barlow, John Flynn, Alan Ogden?, Ian Holmes?, ??, Eddie Colquhoun, Mick Speight, Steve Cammack?, Len Badger

Yes Silent, that's Dave Staniforth. The little lad next to Ken Wood is Stefan Kania I think, an apprentice pro and the guy at the front with sideburns and what looks like a pig shirt is I believe, Barry Gordine, reserve keeper.

It can't be Gordine. He left long before 1972.

Its Martin Kuhl and Andy Barnsley, we won their 3-2 that day, think City had an injured/suspended couple of players if I remember right.
We still ended up relegated and if meemory serves me right - Kuhl and Barnsley both fucked off when Bassett came, Kuhl was ok but Andy Barnsley was worse than Mceverley.

Yep, on reflection I reckon you're correct on that, without checking the records.
David Coxon maybe?

Andy Barnsley was an excellent local footballer, a strong defender who played with Firth Brown's at County Senior level and Arbourthorne EA on Sundays, a top Sunday league team in 60's, 70's & 80's.
He found the step up to league level maybe a bridge too far.

He left us in 1969? I thought he might be Dave Coxon?
