[Firstly I'm not sure if i've posted this in the correct forum, it is a summary of this season but also a farewell to the forum]
Just thought I'd create a thread explaining my final thoughts on this season and to let you know I won't be posting again, just incase anyone wonders why I've stopped from now on (not that anyone will, or care for that matter)
Since I joined up here all it has ever been is an outlet for my many, and longstanding frustrations with the way this club operates in most of what it does, or attempts to do.
I have voiced my opinions loud and clear on the board, the managers mistakes so far and just generally the obstinate mindset of the powers that be. The mindset that has sustained such a fantastic club in such a loathsome division for so long.
I have voiced them to the specific point where most frequent posters and readers will be aware. And as a result, although they are my honest view points, and there's a certain level of satisfaction that my views are able to be expressed, beyond that I'm struggling to see much reason in continually making incredibly negative posts on a forum.
With regards to this season, my gut feeling, however negative, is that the squad assembled by Clough just hasn't changed nearly as much as it would need to in order to mount a serious attempt at promotion. Unless Che Adams accelerates his development rapidly, the players coming back from injury improve their game considerably, and we show incredible levels of ambition in January, then I would say the play-off places is about the best that can be hoped for.
I'm sure many will commence their individual celebrations at the prospect of me leaving the forum, and will accompany them with many witty comments expressing their joy.
Side note: Foxy, Linz, can you delete accounts?
I've pretty much lost all hope in the club and the way it's run, but that won't ever stop me continuing to attend the matches in the hope that one day we will see the club sort itself out and finally start rising the divisions, to a destination a great club like this deserves to be.
Hopefully there's at least a few who agreed with my opinions. Anyway, farewell S24SU.
