Is it just me

This week I can't wait for the Friday early bar to get bolloxed

For me the misery of Tuesday's game has completely dissipated.
Now I'm recharged and full of optimism for the Bradford game.
COYRAWW!!!!!

But I really can't see an end to this misery with the squad we've got.

Just you.

Even Grumpy can see improvements when The Beard, Done and others get back. We might even see Wallace and Coutts together for 90 minutes in the same match.

We're only about 5 quality players away. Just be patient.

I think Coutts will be an interesting one. Hopefully under a decent manager he'll flourish.

Starting to wonder whether we are going to have to wait till next season, when quite a few will be out of contract and we can rebuild properly.

Howard, Collins, McEverley, Baxter, JCR, Higdon, Alcock, Cuvellier, Wallace (unfortunately), McFadzean and McGahey are more than likely out of contract at the end of the season. Coutts has another year on the sidelines after this one.

Pointed out on another thread that we have to rebuild at the end of the season due to so many contracts running out.
Be a major disaster if we have to build a third division team again on three year contracts and not a second division team.

So much pressure Mr Adkns.

I've got to admit, THIS seems years ago already.

Ditto. And this for me is probably the first major calculated error by Adkins so far – choosing to call off the Colchester game because we were going to miss Edgar, Reed and Adams, rather that try and keep that momentum going, while understandable at the time in retrospect looks ill-judged. Buoyed by that win at Swindon, I think putting McGahey, Wallace and Woolford in (while obviously no way ideal) would have given us a reasonable chance of continuing that run – and eliminating the need to then play two games in the space of 4 days to catch-up.

With hindsight, it couldn't have been any worse to have played the game but I thought it was the only decision he could've made at the time. Baxter would've been missing as well had we played on the original date.

It would've looked like a Capital One / JPT side. Postponing it also meant Colchester had 2 long away trips in 4 days - just think what they'd have done to us if they were fresh!

Its not just us a lot of clubs just cannot get their surplus(i was going to use stronger wording) out on loan this is hindering us getting some quality in.
I take on board what Grumpy says about Brayford and Done (Wallace is finished lets not kid ourselves) are quality but they are not key areas

Adding three in that wouldn't have otherwise played wouldn't have drastically changed us beyond hope – and as it turned out, we still ended up missing Adams anyway (though obviously we didn't know he'd be unavailable at the time for the rescheduled game).

I liked what Adkins said immediately after the call-up news – that we were going to try and play the game and use the squad to cover the absentees. It gave a bit of a no fear attitude, at a time we were looking very confident. We've lost that a little I fear.

Don't get me wrong, Brayford returning will improve the side but the problem is, he'll be replacing one of the better players in Freeman and not one of the weaker ones. He's not as good a player but I think Harris' return will improve the team more than Brayford's.
