I was out in a city centre pub in Barnsley a few years ago and saw Chris Morgan out with Stephen Quinn.

Morgan seemed quite drunk. My mate (a Wednesday fan) was giving him some stick but Morgs was giving it back. Seemed a nice guy, always smiling and a bit of a joker.

Squinny was totally sober drinking orange juice. He had his new girlfriend out with him who looked about 16. Got to admit Stephen Quinn came across really well. He said he loves playing for SU and realises how lucky he is being a pro footballer. He said he realises that football can be a short career and he accepts he's not the most talented but he said he is never complacent and will always gives 100% no matter what.

He even bought me a pint of beer. Can't be bad.

Stephen Quinn cried when he was told he was being sold against his wishes by the club for virtually no fee.

A sad day in our recent history.

That's reminded me.....I was in a pub in Barnsley a few years ago and we were stood close to Jon Parkin. A lad approached him and said "How come you're always on the bench these days Jon?", Parkin replied "...because I'm fucking shit". Conversation over!

Stephen Quinn has always had a good rep from fans that have spoken to him.

Used to see him and Del Boy in my barbers and he was a decent lad. Think he still lives locally or at least he still gets his hair cut this way.

Del geary and him used to get into town as well, the pair of them often in crystal. Both good lads

I remember the photo of him signing for Hull he looked gutted.

I reckon if we had got promoted then he may have re signed for us this summer since he was a free agent.

I'm sure he dried his eyes once he got to the bank. Anyone who believes that "crying" bollocks could redefine the word 'gullible'...

Probably best if he'd said **** the club and the fans. Be no doubting his sincerity at all then.

He was good to me after my first away game (v Leicester in March 1970). He told my dad to lift me up and asked me to put my programme through the little sliding window in the coach so that he would get all the players autographs for me

I was down at The Lane at about mid-day when we played Orient in 1979 (Sabella's debut). It was the first match of the season and spirits were high. I walked along John St. when Woody came out of the old player's entrance. "Hey, Woody, are we going to win, today?" Said I, cheerily. "Don't know" was the monosyllabic grunt in response as he walked past without a glance or breaking his stride. It's coloured my view of him (though not his ability) ever since.

As long as the money is right that will take the sting out of having to move to Hull.

You misunderstand. There was no crying. The story is fabricated. Utter bollocks.

I never said, nor was under the impression, that there was. He was genuinely sad to leave, big salary increase or not.

Not sure who has "lapped it up" though.

Players aren't allowed to like Sheffield United. Get with the plan.

I'm sure, like many players, he went with a tinge of regret, mixed feelings and fond memories, but "crying" - give me a break. No-one made him go!

Anyone that knows the Quinn family can corroborate this. Give it a try, rather than having wild guesses and stabs in the dark dressed up as fact.

You'd imagine you'd have learnt your lesson about your comments about Weir.

We've got a feisty one, here. Just a brain cell away from being a nuisance.

It's anyone 'who', by the way. It's a personal pronoun; 'that' is impersonal. Stick around. I'll help anyone who's willing to learn...even migrants from TILD, tough job though it is.

Do you get off on being obnoxious?

So is this the right thread to wish our young development player, Marc 'Sparky' McNulty a very happy birthday.

I hope he managed to have a good celebration what with him being away from home and having been on the losing end on Saturday...

Good point. Happy birthday Marc.
It's a double-edged sword though. Is 23 a bit too old to be classed as a "young, development player"?

I was at a bar in west street once and stood next to none other than pele

He was a right cunt ,his mates micheal caine and sly stallone were oreyt though

Pele wouldn't be seen dead on West Street. He was a Wards drinker, and only Wards.

I saw him in the bogs. He was there when I went in and still there when I left.
He asked me if I could change a fiver and he seemed to be checking out the Viagra machine.
