Egg chasing on new pitch

Been waiting for this thread for about a month. RL is no worse for the pitch than football, RU tears up pitches a bit more due to scrummaging being a bigger part of the game, in League it's basically an uncontested setpiece. Apart from the odd line you'll not notice a thing.

Be great to see the Eagles at the Lane on a regular basis. Ideally we want United in the Premier League and Eagles in Super League, meaning the Lane has top level sport all year round. Desso surface, if I'm not mistaken, means the pitch can take as much hammer as you want to throw at it without adverse affect. I'm hoping United will take it a stage further and start putting other stuff on at the Lane ie concerts, boxing, RL internationals, etc. If it puts the Lane / United in the spotlight and brings in more money then it has to be a good thing imo.

A couple of Rugby League games shouldn't have any effect, it doesn't dig the pitch up like Rugby Union with its scrums and rucks, infact the action is more spread around the pitch than football with all its concentration around the penalty area.

And if the Desso pitch could have taken the hit of a Kell Brook fight on it in July which was seriously been considerd then this should be no problem

Why do you think we laid it in the first place? To earn money out of it of course.

It will earn us less money , if the new fandangled pitch becomes a mess , and one of the factors that fucks us up getting promotion. Money is in promotion not renting out the pitch. Surely we dont need the money that much , and the renting to rugby cannot be big dosh.

The type of quick passing footy we are to play , we want a balling green pitch not a cut up muddy qwop mire in winter.

Nothing against the Eagles but no thanks at BDTBL.

People are underestimating what you can do to a season pitch with out damaging them. Most NFL teams use them in rain, snow and torrential downpours

Time will be the telling factor . Just dont think its a good idea, and we live to regret it . I would have preffered them playing at S6 . Perhaps its my ignorance on Desso pitches , but first and foremost we are a football club , trying to acheive promotion , using every advantage to us availuable . Under other managers and the type of football we played , i wouldn't even have a thought / comment . Under Adkins , it is a differant ball game , and it aint rugby.:)

I've no objections to The Eagles playing at Bramall Lane.
As long as they don't sing that godawful Hotel California. It gets in my tits.

Having to play that song made me leave the band man. You don't realise how shit it is for a drummer. Fucking dirge.

Talking about RU cutting up pitches via scrummaging, did you see the highlights of England v France last weekend at the Stade de France? By half-time the pitch was looking something like the Somme!

I believe the Ricoh Stadium, Coventry is going for a Desso pitch and they are confident that it will keep in good condition for all the big matches, despite some cloggers cutting it up playing football on it.

To be fair it's only some dudes running around on it for 80 minutes now and again. We aren't having the gypsies over that wreck Norfolk Park every year with their hook a ducks and shitty teacup rides.
