McCabe will though. A whiff of money in January and he will be gone...
What would we sell him for next window he,s a work in progress and his value won't rocket until he gets a lot better or are you having a go at Mccabe. We will not be able to keep good players until we,re out of this division and pushing for the premiership.

If Che went on to score another 10-12 goals before the JTW and we were not top two I reckon we'd cash in. Look at the evidence over the past 4 or 5 years.... McCabe has undoubtably done some good for this club but in terms of player/manager recruitment and the transfer market it has been generally appalling.

Why would we want any release clause at all?

Its the blades way !!
We have to have an excuse ready for when our ambitious board sell him to the first to bid ten bob, a bag of Rowntrees randoms, two shiny buttons and a promise of a friendly match ........
UTB & FTP

It was meant to be tongue in cheek due to Murphy leaving us in similar fashion

He was sold because he wanted to go, not (as had been suggested at the time) due to a release clause. Indeed Phipps pretty much said we'd have rejected the final approach had Murphy not put the request in.

If we've had to put one in for Adams to sign ithen it had better have been bloody sizeable.

Does McCabe not get credit for recruitingthese players originally? He has backed the manager and the development of the Academy players that has enabled us to sell them....

Yeah I bet recruiting Che Adams cost big mega bucks. Sadly along with most of the other clubs in this country we are a selling club. I just wish we'd learn sometimes and try to keep hold of some of the lads a bit longer rather then cashing in at the first opportunity.

I think we've established that the club runs at a loss and atm the Prince is funding us with around £6m pounds of his own money.

There is a business plan to get us into Division 1 where we may well be able to be run at a profit.

It is in everyone's interests istm to do the best by the club.

Apart from since the prince's involvement we haven't. We didn't sell Harry to Wolves, nor did we accept Hull's first offer. We refused offers for Murphy until he put in a transfer request.
Its unfair on the Prince and his entourage to say that because KM made mistakes they're bound to do the same.
And the only times I can think of when we took the first offers were KMac where we had to because of the low release fee we stupidly agreed to and Slew, when we ripped their hands off. Oh, and Blackman. So two lash-ups.
