Bush , whether or not the Ferguson or Clough Snr way of management is still applicable, or now a little outdated , is open to opinion . What we do know on all things SUFC , is that the situation we had had CB last season ultimately was one of the factors that cost us promotion and Clough his job.

The name of the game would to get ready made replacements , and not play players out of position , who may be uncomfortable , which then reflects in there performance .

History tells us we failed , so we start again with a clean sheet , and hoping Adkins solves all our problems, self made or not.

Agree. I've said before that was his downfall, along with what I perceived to be issues regarding fitness. Many on here thought he should have relented and played Collins towards the end of the season. I disagree. He should have bought a replacement, simple as that, which is what Fergie would have done.
I'm not wasting my time defending Clough, he's gone. I'm 110% behind the man who's moving forwards, the man who draws his curtains wide and says 'what a beautiful day to be alive, what a beautiful day for sticking a cucumber through someone's letter box and shouting help, the Martians have landed'.

Not overly concerned with the reasons why Maguire, Butler and Collins went /or were not considered for the first team but the facts were we where 3 centre halves down from virtually word go last season and the manager (the so-called expert in putting the team together) elected to fill two key positions for most of the campaign with full backs, an out of his depth teenager, or a midfield player. That was an obvious problem in why we didn't go up last season, if supporters could see it and the manager couldn't, or was unwilling to do owt about it, then supporters were quite with in their rights to have a gripe about it imo.
Tbf, I think I missed your point a bit.

Last night Adkins spoke in glowing terms about Sharp and the goals he had scored for him at various clubs. It's obvious he thinks the world of him and he said it was true that Sharp is passionate about Bramall Lane " however, he's a Leeds player at this point in time".

Yep , and the Leeds chairman is a piece of lettuce short of a salad sandwich and Rosler his bitch . Just cannot see it happening unless Murphy is involved somewhere down the line .

Sun journo Alan Nixon. Sharp thing been worked on today. @reluctantnicko: LEEDS. SHEFF U. Sharp thing being worked on today. Leeds may come up with money to pay him off. Sheff U waiting on nod. #chance

Hope Sharp stays on tour with Leeds as I just can't see it working and that will be third time unlucky.

Unless NA is the new Dr Who and has a tardis in the treatment room that can fetch players back from the past I just don't see the value.

We need strength and pace as well as guile. He has one of those qualities - and that is in decline.

It'll end in tears
