Well clearly it is destined for someones Back Garden, I mean the Club would have been trying to flog the Pitch otherwise

And if you are receiving a New Lawn, you want it looking the part from day one

Looks from the photo they've switched the goalposts. A much wider and shorter pitch kicking John Street to South Stand – maybe Clough IS buying more defenders, wide men and scrapping the midfield.

A little off topic but don't want to start a new thread just for this - as a new fan who's not from the city I've been wondering where the Pigs nickname for Wednesday came from? Twist on Owls or something else?

I first heard (or noticed ) it shortly after a televised Wednesday game after Mel Sterland described himself as a "flying pig" going down the wing to score a goal in an after-match interview. Another snippet - Mel, the great Wednesday hero, was brought up as a Unitedite as a child and youth

"The club’s alternative nickname in those far off times was the slightly less complimentary title of ‘The Pigs’ as the site where Hillsborough is now was originally a porcine slaughterhouse, built in Owlerton because the prevailing South Westerly winds carried the stench away from the main centres of population. Wednesday fans cottoned onto this ‘compliment’ and claimed that they called Sheffield United fans ‘pigs’ because their red and white kit made them look like rashers of bacon."

That is a brilliant idea seriously. Only change I'd make is I'd have it dyed and the club emblem in full colour facing the camera's in the south stand (actually the camera's should be in the John St but that's another story)

Old Trafford had the CL logo somehow mowed or dyed into the grass in the centre circle for the 2003 final. I think the 2 swords would look better than the entire logo personally.

It was a beautiful day, tainted only by some poor refereeing. Looking back, we had an honest, hardworking and superbly organised team, with the added dimension of an outstanding striker (who we characteristically (under)sold to the first serious bidder).

Of course, you're not the same person and United is not the same club - change is the one constant in our lives!

Whilst I can't argue against your point, that we seem to have endured more than our share of genital flagellation, my pecker remains firmly upright when it comes to supporting The Blades. I decided long ago, that the only way to survive and remain positive as a Blade was to enjoy the journey - one game at a time - and not fixate too much on a particular destination, e.g. The Premier League.

We've had some amazing experiences since that Liverpool game in 92, during both the Warnock and, yes, Clough years. We've more than held our own in the battle for local supremacy, which for many is most important. Even in the 3 years since they went up, we've had far more fun battling in Play-offs and playing in cup semi-finals, whilst they've struggled to maintain mid-table obscurity in a league above. I'm probably in a minority, but I would not have swapped places with them since their promotion.
