FFS!........I know some of the football has been gash this season, but we are in the playoffs!! ....we should be raising the roof the next few games....if you want to moan...wait until after or watch Wendy.

New member, are we?

You could have posted this shit in 1996, 1997, 2003, 2009, 2012, 2013.

What makes you think that your 'stay away' happy-clapping has any effect on a side clearly bereft of talent and team spirit?

Tell you what. I'll test your faith in this team. I will come on here and start a thread saying 'Pommpey was wrong, and he is sorry' if we win at Wembley and go up. I will gladly do that, in fact, and gladly field the shit coming my way. Your part of the deal is that you have a maximum of three matches to go before you post a thread saying '@the lane was wrong, and United are indeed shit and he should stop happy-clapping in the face of mediocre football'.

We all want United to go up, critics and clappers alike. Do you still feel so confident given recent form and history in the playoffs?

Blader doesn't for one.

Alright pommpey...so you think constant critical bollocks, whining and slagging off is the right thing going into the most important week we've had in a long time???.
You know what, they might not do it.....will I apologise....absolutely not!
If they do, I don't expect you to either........what I expect is that all the blades get behind the team for the next three games.
If you want to go and boo....don't stand next to me mate...we will fall out.

I won't boo. I will however be disappointed if we fail turn up ready to beat the opposition. We've been doing this for the best part of three months now ... ever since what now seems to be against a freakishly underperforming Bristol City side at Ashton Gate.

I don't think it will last three games. I expect it to be all over by game one, bar the expected 'miracles might happen' crap.

Good luck in singing your heart out if the recent misfiring efforts is all they have to offer. I'll be watching from the comfort of my home.

Not bereft of talent or team spirit imo.

One aspect of team spirit in evidence today when Reed(?) was chopped down: Doyle nearly went for the Chesterfield player - luckily he was a few yards away and had chance to calm down before he got there.

Do we need a bit of 1970 leeds in us .

Did we win?

I thought Utd were very poor today and as usual seemed shit scared to try anything but the safe option for fear of losing possession. Chesterfield, on the other hand, looked to carry the ball forward at every opportunity and all looked like they were enjoying playing football.

I didn't hear anyone booing, but I'm afraid unless we pick it up a gear, it is hard to see anything but disappointment again. Nevertheless I was wondering if I can still go to the matches? :(

It doesn't take a genius to work out that we need better players but we haven't got them nor can we get them this side of the playoffs. So what do you suggest we do on Thursday night? Chuck the towel in, don't even bother trying because we are so crap?

It seems to be the attitude of some on here certainly Bert. But perhaps we are a bit crap, but being a bit crap might just get us into the PO when we playing against other crap teams in a division that's a bit crap, and once their, maybe we can raise ourselves from being a bit crap to almost being half decent.

Up The Blades, always.

That's more of a foregone conclusion isn't it, Bert? Given the amount of bathware we have thrown in already, v Palace, v Wolves ... fuck me even against fucking Yeovil, I'd say it would be miraculous if we could suddenly outperform two of our fellow playoff teams but ... really?

What I am trying to say is rather than turn this into another tiresome 'you're a cunt because you don't believe in the Blades' exchange, why not try a quick glance at our performances of late and 'unjustify' my lack of confidence in United's ability to get through yet another mini-tournament without Clough having to issue more excuses through his gritted teeth. The results bear me out on this, not my own cynicism, which I am sure people think I adopt just for reaction. I'd love us to be in the position Bristol City are at the moment, finishing the season with a flourish. The dark part of it is this. If we do fluke a win at Wembley, could you please then reassure me the Clough won't be led into next season's transfer market with his arm up his back again, purchasing more shit just to appease us 'moaners'?

Next season is a bit of a concern granted.

I believe we have as a good a chance as the others in the play-offs. It is a lottery and previous league form has no relevance.

We have in recent years played well in cup competitions and enter this seasons finale as underdogs. I assume Preston are the favourites.

Anything can happen. Unfortunately, I am away on the weekend of the final and can't go. This, knowing my luck makes me think we will win!

Bert's has witnessed our last few performances, he is well aware how poor they were. In fact Bert will be amazed if we go up..... But he hasn't given up, he won't ever be giving up. Some of us are like that.

Really? Swindon (or Swinedon :)) must have relegation form since the New Year. So that's them sorted.

And Preston, who already have more play-off failures than us, were a bag of nerves away at Colchester today. Their bubble's burst.

If by some miracle the even worse Chesterfield make it through to the final, well at full strength they couldn't even beat our reserves, featuring teenagers playing off form and out of position.

We'll walk it.

THAT'S THE FUCKING DUNKIRK SPIRIT, COME ON UNITED!

Another clap or fuck off to the sty thread ..................... how original. I wonder why the happy clappers all think that anyone with a different view to themselves sit at the lane booing for 90 minutes. My train of thought is maybe the most critical are also the most passionate fans who want the best for the club, you know the type that will not accept or settle for second best. If the team play shit they should be made aware that it is not acceptable, just being there to make up the numbers might be good enough for some fans but for others it is not good enough and sitting there clapping every gallant failure will not change a thing down at the lane. A growing number of fans want to see some winners in the red and white stripes rather than a manager and team that worry about what the likes of Yeovil ,Crawley and Fleetwood might do to us.

I thought the crowd was quite good considering how crap we were yesterday. I don't moan at games or shout abuse, however allow me to come on here and vent my anger at how pathetic we are. So when we do not go up this season, please do not come on here and support Clough or anything he has achieved this season. Please let nobody mention a fucking semi final, because that's past and what will be in our future is another season in this division.

classic misconception that if you criticise the team here then you boo the shirt at the game.. i hate this billy big blade bollocks
