IMO he has been a little premature in assembling a squad capable of playing in the league above ,but who are unlikely to gain promotion to that league .. This is a myth. This team would not do better in the league above. Have you watched Championship football recently? The players are fitter and faster than in league one. They would eat our scrappy non scoring midgets alive.

What Clough has assembled is a team that cannot compete physically and doesn't score many goals. It is incredible that he has signed so many central midfielders (to give just one example) and not a single one of them scores goals. It is a gigantic waste of resources.

And yes, we have beaten some PL teams in Cups. That's very admirable, and all of those wins were deserved. But that's a very small sample size.
