Rumour has it we want 2... and we have 3 strikers that greatly interest us, those being O'Grady, Doyle & Steven Davies.

Apparently we're close on 1, possibly 2 so you just never know come the close of the JTW :-D

don't want davies would just be a replacement for porter he's 27 with 36 league goals his whole career

however 1 season 12 goals 27 games that was 2011-2012 with derby

Pinchy you are suspended from said Christmas card list, how bloody dare you buy that scarf? Jim will think they're a good idea and do a Preston set next! BTW did you buy a big foam hand? If you did I saw just one last night so it must have been yow, thought you were older mind, say 10-11 ;)

They're talking 2 million, so we could get for 1.5mil, he won't get into derbys team or cardiffs straight away, so its a place on the bench should he go there..

Its a bit steep, but he knows where the net is that's for sure.

I'm all for saving money but fannying about and making crappy little bids just alerts other teams, we will just end up in a bidding war now anyway- which we haven't a prayer of winning.
Personally I think all our eggs were in the COG basket
 
What on earth leads you to think it was a 'crappy little bid'? We've just shelled out 1.5 million for Brayford and that should show that we're serious about meeting player's valuation (which can be determined by us as much as the selling club).

Oh, and it's not us that alert clubs to a player's availability, that's very much an agent's remit.

The only criticism I would have is if we meet the valuation on Monday and could have done so today.
 

There is that nagging doubt tho that by the end of this window, we might still not have signed that elusive proven striker that most fans including Clough crave for

Come on Blades, make it one of the best windows for some time
