I find this incredible - Cardiff are going to let a regular member of their team go for nowt?

Good old Sun newspaper ...here's several to pull :)

Surely we could never be that lucky, surely there are other clubs interested in signing him for real money? If it happened, we could have Flynn starting in place of Scougall.....but come on, it's the Sun!!

They're hardly going to say 'keep your money, have Brayford for free' but if he really wants to play for us, that's the kind of thing that engineers a move when a club doesn't want to sell.

There have been so many stories about him, something's got to be going on.

I never thought I'd be excited by a right back.

That is precisely what fans' favourite Maguire did. Yet it's the club's fault...

The Sun story is a dare to dream story.

I have thought when I've seen John playing for Cardiff he looks like a guy who is just going through the motions.
Non of his life depending lung bursting runs running to get forward or back.

As Red says in Shawshank
''But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone.
I guess I just miss my friend.''

I am a big sentimental sod at times! :)

Here's another log on the fire from BM: (first bit is regards COG)

"Loan with a view to sign in the summer, is what i heard after the Preston game, but there is a bid on the table, so it might become permanent now. Also hearing one or two interesting bits on a right footed player with facial hair, seems he would like the opportunity to pull on the red and white stripes, again. The welsh club he plays for, are, i believe seriously considering our offer, big money. The bid for Doyle stands, not sure if we pull out when O Grady signs, but word is he wants to play for Celtic."

I cant wait for the outpouring of unfettered emotion if this thread ever gets its....

Is the Brayford story just going to get wheeled out in every transfer window.

We also can't afford him with Tonge and Michael Brown too.

Somewhere, in a parallel universe, Sheffield United are currently sat comfortably in the Premiership with Brayford, Brown, Tonge, Koumas and Podolski playing regularly with Hamilton Ricard as first team coach.

It all changed for us with Theo Walcott's first loan spell. Though us older blades fondly remember Michael Laudrup's electric six months at the club.

I just might make my own kit with BRAYFORD on the back if this comes off.

I may even consider bloody buying one!

I mourn the loss of Harry because he was my favourite player, but he wanted to leave and we had no right to stand in his way really. If he'd had an average season (in a worse team than last year), he could kiss the Premier League goodbye.

.......even earlier than he actually will....

I, for one, would need some belly wipes.

Sod belly wipes. I might just prop up on my shoulders and try to fire it straight into my mouth.

There has to be a "workaround" here that suits both parties and gets us around the FFP.

He's playing for Cardiff tonight at Middlesbrough so deal not done yet!

This would suggest it's not happening. They would not risk him getting injured if they were about to sell him.

It always did seem unlikely. We've spent the last few years shopping at Poundland - so spending £1.5m+ on one player always seemed unlikely.
