Since we changed the ethos of the club we have become the nations darlingsFor the prosecution
Neil Warnock is in my experience universally despised by other fans. In fact, even we Blades can't agree whether we like him.
Chedgate and our Board's indecision hasn't helped. It has brought a nasty and negative focus onto our wonderful club.
Morgs is viewed as frightening.
The Tevez saga portrayed us as whingers in the London led media.
Under Bassett our style was seen as agricultural.
For the defence
Away fans respect the GCB song and I believe respect our numbers and attitude when we go to away games.
Our hooligans seem to play by the hooligan rules and don't seem to indiscriminately target non hooligans nowadays.
Our ground is a proper ground, close to the station and enables most away fans to have a decent ale trip (apart from having no bitter to drink in the away end!)
We don't have any big time Charlie's showboating it on the pitch (Nigel would, of course, banish em)
Our ability to hand other teams bargain signings who go on to play for England or in the Premiership is appreciated by those who do business with us.
Neutrals like our celebrity fans
Conclusion
So overall, our past footballing style, past managers and decisions of the Board put us in the negative, whilst our fans, their approach and the joy that is Sheffield and BDTBL put us in the positive. Leads me to think if you've met us and been here you like us, if your perception is drawn from the media you don't.
I remember a survey amongst football fans years ago and we were second most fashionable fans behind west ham
