Does everyone hate us?

I'm a bit concerned about what refs think.
Too many dislike us when playing the bigger teams :(

That's just a big team thing. Swansea are media darlings yet get turned over by refs all the time. Ask any club out of the "big 4" and they'll probably say the same.

Does everyone hate us?

As an exile I would say no as most people are ambivalent to us.

However log onto shoutbox on any match day and it seems a lot of our own fans hate us much more.
I dont see that,I see a few like you cracking unfunny jokes about our hysterical fans or fans who want us to fail
Bullshit mate its called passion

I think Gillingham was the worst. A game we dominated and ended up winning, probably the best we have played all season. When they went one nil up I looked on the shoutbox and some of the comments on there by many I assume not at the game was laughable.

Passionate maybe but it often crosses a line in my opinion.

what is this line you speak of ? can you outline it for us so we know when to reel it in

Well personally I wouldn't comment on the performance unless I had seen it for one. And making things up about manager player relations to suit an agenda is another favourite.
sort of makes the shoutbx redundant then doesnt it ?

Put it this way, it's the day when the lunatics take over the asylum. A night out for the single-cells. There is more rational opinion to be heard on Radio Sheffield and that says it all.

You want stupidity? Try the shout box post-match. It's there in abundance.

I don't think everyone "hates" us. SWFC are a local rival and a lot of the Owls fans I know don't hate us, rivals yes, hate us, no. West Ham fans have no real reason, they should hate their board for breaking football rules, although some of the fans will blame us. When we played Leyton Orient, at Orient, last season, a gang of us in United shirts went drinking in a local boozer after. West Ham were playing the Arse live on Sky and this pub was showing it. The pub was full of West Ham fans (and Arsenal fans) and we all just stood drinking and watching the match, no trouble, no comments, apart from one West Ham fan giving us a tip about which roads to avoid, because of traffic and road works, to get home quicker.

You're a spiteful person aren't you Pinchers? The only one who behaves like a lunatic is you. Remember your embarrassing rant in there, it was worse than any of the so called single cells truth be told.

oldham walked into the same shitstorm we did tbf.. i was impressed by their chairman last night
we're here to win not be liked

I believe we are disliked by the Premier League hierarchy for making them look bigger pr**ks than they already are regarding their not having the balls to issue an appropriate punishment over the "Tevez affair" and we are disliked by the FA hierarchy for DARING to seek justice from their beloved chirpy cockney cheats, via the Courts and winning.

Most Clubs fans are probably ambiguous about us in the same way we are about them. Dirty Le**s scum, arrogant snivelling piggy bas**rds and cheating cockney West Ham gits excepted, of course !!

But generally, the question is; do we give a flying f**k what the football world think about us ? I don't :)
UTB & FTP
Then there are other Tyke clubs eg Dingles, Udders feeled etc, with their vile fans , and Chesterfield, all these types loathe us. But do we give a shit?
Only when we play the teams and have some semi literate congregation of chavs and yobbos belting abuse at us in our own stadium.

Pinchy doesn't require assistance in responding to your comments MH, but what exactly is spiteful in Pinchy's post? He might seem curt and to the point, but he's not alone in that on this forum. It's a trait of having to respond to genuinely stupid posts.....as for Pinchy's rant, it was a classic of inebriated volatility, and has gone down in the annals of Forum legend. Therefore it is a priceless example of denouncing Non-Blade wankerism......more importantly, Pinchy was man enough to explain his outburst.

Agree Blood. Forum would be a poorer place without Pinchers (but don't tell him I said that ;))

well if we aren't liked. everybody must despise leeds. For blades, i think its been a culmination of things over the years, vinnie jones caused a hoo haa. the, battle of bdtl. the tevez affair, ched, where theres a shit storm ,we usually arent far away. i wouldnt have it any other way !

We don't hate you down here. Or at least I don't. As others have said, most fans are thinking/ stressing about their next game, their position in the league, etc. And maybe their one true, local, rival. Leeds and Millwall might be exceptions to this rule (?) If you've had a kicking somewhere, that can colour your view of a club and it's entire fanbase, in my experience. But I haven't had one at Bramall Lane (yet!)

I would say most of us envy and at the same time admire your support and tradition, wish we had some of that. Is it better that people have an opinion about you? Probably not in the Ched Evans furore, but nobody takes very much notice of us at all. We are on the outer fringes of the football family.

Sheffield Utd to me means: Tony Currie, Dave Bassett, hoofball, the play offs in 1988, that West Ham thing, Warnock, Brian Deane, great old ground, tradition, great support, underachievers, poor relation in Sheffield (sorry! That may, or may not be right), huge crowds for Div 3 derbies in late 70s, Sean Bean, Paul Heaton, red n white stripes, cup runs, Nigel Clough, Ched Evans. That's when I think about Sheffield Utd.

Mostly, I'm thinking about Scunthorpe away Saturday, Swindon playing tonight, Mk Dons losing Afobe, Matt Smith's loan ending soon, Preston, etc etc. Looking over me shoulder and fretting. I'll think about you lot again in Feb, and worry about a team that can beat 4 or 5 Prem teams in 12 months or whatever. But hate? Nah. 90 mins of antipathy, but that'll be about it. Happy to meet up afterwards!

I really don't think the Ched Evans thing helped you lot at all though. Glad that wasn't us. Wouldn't want any of that. But it's probably what you are known for at the moment. Whether that will fade in time, and we just think of Dave Bassett and long ball, who knows?
