But if the clubs have agreed the deal for the loan (as we have been told re COG and BHA - Alan Biggs as one source) then it is up to the player.
Then the following factors come into play:
Travel time / hotel
Family upheaval
Standard / division
Quality of squad
Likelihood of success of team results
Style of play
Game time expected
Previous
Weighing up more than one option.
If this becomes permanent do I want to go there?

The money side of things doesn't really feature for the player much at the loan stage, it's mostly about the game time and the standard they are interests in.

The factors that the player will consider are as Kenilworth describes above

The loan deal between clubs can be agreed before personal terms

Think that's where our deals go tits up

:D stick, pipe, smoke, enjoy
...... and keep those fond thoughts of yours about breasts going, Judgey, old feller ;)

As cheery as I have ever seen you on this forum ;)
It's only a one month loan my worry is if he plays well and becomes a pivotal part of the team will he go the same way as coady and Brayford ?

Or we have him for one month (upto New Year) and sign him on 1st January?

We've waited for months for a new striker and it's going to end up being O'Grady. How depressing. Hardly a sign of ambition is it?

I thought Doyle said we were looking for a big name, a statement of intent. We're keeping that one well under wraps aren't we.

Careful Latters. You'll get accused of forgetting it's a new era...

I don't quite get some people's thinking that because I don't rate O'Grady, I must expect us to sign Lionel Messi or similar.

O'Grady is no more exciting a signing than Higdon. I think because it's taken so long to convince him to come, people think he's better than he is and we've finally snagged "the one".

Get your point mate, but can you cite examples where anyone has mentioned COG being a superb player? Only time will tell if he's been worth the wait, but for some posters it's as if Clough is between a rock and a hard place. If he doesn't get COG there's no ambition, if he gets his man then all we get is negative resignation.

I've tried really hard but I can't muster up much excitement for O'Grady. He doesn't seem like much of an improvement on what we have.

I live near Brighton and in the one game I saw him in he was anonymous. Harsh to judge him on that but my Brighton supporting colleagues have a pretty dismal opinion of him too.

Perhaps it was just the wrong move for him and he will hit his stride at United. I hope so but I'm doubtful.

I can only recall seeing him play once but, on the basis that he stole between 2 defenders and headed a right wing cross into the back of our net, I'm willing to give him a chance :)

Marginally better than what we have, but I don't think he'll make a massive amount of difference in the month he's here, from what I've been told he doesn't play the lone striker role well, but is a good foil alongside another striker

Maybe we might start playing four four fucking two!

Can't see NC changing the formation but with Wallace out I'd like to see 4-1-3-2 particularly when playing at home.

It will be interesting to see whether Scougall or Baxter makes way in the side. I'd prefer it to be the former and like to see Baxter in what is probably his best position just behind the main striker.

Must be right if it's on Twitter.

On the off chance that the statements are correct, United will have been well aware of such a situation long before a hack reporter.

We shall see...

Made me laugh looking at this guys twitter today. "My how things can change in football" or something to that effect. Or, perhaps, you were just always full of shit and were hoping to look prescient if things fell through...
