We either play him in the first team now or he leaves for nothing in the summer. Unbelievable that we have a player so talented going to waste.

Yes he is out of contract at the end of the year, and can be approached by other clubs in January, to sign a precontract.
If it's an English club we would be entitled to Compo, but if is a Foreign club (Italian perhaps?) then we get nothing. Give him game time over the next few weeks in the hope we can get him to sign a new deal, or face losing him for nothing.

I thought youngsters couldn't just leave on a free like that under 24?
Also, Clough has now told Radio Sheffield that he is likely to go back out on loan...
I agree,it would be pointless otherwise.Hope he does well, don't mind him being on loan if he's playing, don't want him being at Blades and not playing
is he better than porter? YES
is he a better striker than baxter? Probably
Can he find the back of the net? Yes
Will he get a chance in the team? No
fair reply but a striker his main job is to score goals 4 in 8 for italy youth and 3 in 4 for york granted porter has him on experience but who would you feel more confident of scoring up top for us in a game.Or;
Is he better than Porter? At what exactly? (genuine question) He's probably more skilful but Porter has experience at leading a line and can play the lone forward role better than Diego I'd imagine.
Is he a better striker than Baxter? Probably not at this moment otherwise I doubt we'd have sent him out on loan.
Reality is he's a young kid who's played about 6 first team games, 4 of them at a lower level. I'd be very surprised if he was a better option than Baxter or Porter at the moment. Having said that I don't think it'd do us harm to see what he's got by giving him a run out today but then you'd have to imagine the management and coaching staff have a better idea than us already.
I'm other news, the local newspaper reporter from York has been headhunted by the Sheffield Star. They think he'll fit right in.
Unbelievable?
That situation is hardly surprising for us.
Sunderland were scouting him at York apparently.
Had his chance today and I was dissappointed. Thought his movement was poor and his dive within 5 minutes of comin on was embarrassing. So he was recalled only to start on the bench in a cup game where we had no other viable options due to injury. Given that his contract runs out at the end of the season and Clough doesn't fancy him, he might as well release him on a free. Keeping him is just delaying the inevitable. Give the lad a chance FFS.
Thought Murphy just shaded Basham to be honest.Mr Clough , Mr Clough brother does not like Diego , Mc Nuts . They are not the right character for Mr Clough . We supporters better get used to it.
Basham was the MOTM for me today .
Chris Porter over to you.
