I really hope you’re in the wind up & not being serious
I am being serious. Not long ago I made a legitimate comment about Wilder, which got swiftly moved from General Blades Chat to Other Football. I couldn’t believe it. Some people have such short memories.

No idea of the comment you made but there’s been so much debate about Wilder since he left that it wouldn’t surprise me if it got shifted. The Blades chat isn’t going to be cluttered with pages/threads of Mark Duffy debate. Either way, it’s such a small issue - does it matter that much?

Left as Southport boss after less than a month after it's alleged he has 'questionable/controversial' views.

He certainly does have controversial views. So far I have seen:

1) he likes pineapple on Pizza
2) he is vocal on social media that he did in deed stop the bouncing, with many pig fans suggesting that day never occurred
3) Biggest Blades fan is Flea from RHCP
4) he isn't sure on the correct usage of snicket and gennel, but doesn't actually care either way.
5) something about extreme right wing views.

Snicket is a vile Donny non-word!

Please elaborate.

It's not an exact science but this is what they have always meant to me.

An alley is a wide gap between buildings or houses. I think everyone can agree on this one.

A ginnel is somewhat similar to an alley but narrower. I understand it's called a gennel in Sheffield but we pronounce it ginnel with a hard G.

A snicket is a pathway or a shortcut that usually goes through a grassy area with trees, like down the side of a park.

I’ll buy that. Though not keen on the hard g. 🤨

Pineapple rox on pizza. I'm so-oo far right!

Just to be clear, the above views and not connected to each other.

I too am a fan of pineapple on pizza. However Sean Bean is clearly our number 1 celebrity fan as confirmed by the thread.

As much as I respect Duffy for the magic he brought, its outrageous that he should suggest an american is number 1.

Might be wrong with this as it's just an uneducated guess, but I reckon the "questionable/controversial" views is merely an HR thing.

Had they tried to sack him for performances, they'd have likely needed to pay him out, and could have been a hefty figure.

It would be a LOT easier to sack someone for gross misconduct or bringing the club into disrepute though, and likely wouldn't mean you need to pay them off.

I think they've seen an easy way out and likely offered him a small severance package knowing that they didn't have to give him anything and can get him out the door without fuss.

I can kind of see what you're saying with the snicket and ginnel.

But car park?

😅😅

If this is a car park?

Then what do you call this?

OK the entrance to a car park i grant you. You couldn't actually park there - unless you put your hazard warning lights on of course.

It's not the entrance to a car park though.

I know where it is and there's no car park down it or at the end of it.

It's just an alley that goes down the side of some houses.

The first one is a Lane, it even says so on the sign.

Second picture is an Entry, because it's an entryway between two houses.

The last one is a Muggers Paradise, where scrotes secrete themselves in hoodies, jogging bottoms and Lonsdale trainers waiting for old people who've just picked their pension up, or done the weeks shopping.

There is no Ginnel (pronounced Jennel) in these pictures.

You're not far wrong on that one.

It's always been a popular meeting spot for weed deals and other such nefarious activities.

So I've heard.
