Step up Luke Faxon

Am I right in thinking Davies’s contract is up in the summer?
If so, I really think we should use this dead time of the season to give Faxon his debut.
Getting any first team minutes is incredibly hard for a keeper - it’s not like a young striker you can chuck on for the last 15 mins to give them a run.
At some point, if Faxon is going to progress, he needs to start a first team match for someone. This situation seems perfect to give him a game or two when nobody is bothered about the result and the pressure is not so great.
Davies has done nothing wrong, but I don’t see the point of him playing every remaining game this season.

If we reach safety it does make sense to give him and any others on the fringe a turn in the red, white and black just to see what we have got and as part of what needs to be a major rebuild.

Have you read some of the posts from yesterday? Apparently we're going down still. I wouldn't say no one is bothered.

After another game watching Adam Davies’ lengthy deliberations as to whether he should leave his 6 yard box every time a ball comes over the top, and his terror when being asked to not only touch the ball with his feet but to also kick it accurately to a teammate - I think we should be open to ideas.

Bump. He's a fucking idiot in net

🤣🤣

Blades still in the Championship and Faxon can't get a League start at Boston.
The fact you've been through my history to find this really is something a nutcase and/or saddo would do 🤣

The bizarre thing with that is, it isn't like Boston's keeper is having a decent season W-3 D-3 L-7, goals against 23 in 13 matches. I don't know what talk goes on when we agree loan deals with the clubs however so far, Faxon has only played against U21's sides in the cup which he was happily doing in our U21's on a weekly basis. Looking back on the article when the deal was agreed it is only until January, so I wonder if we will try and get him into a side that will give him some playing opportunities even if that means dropping a division.

Not that I wish an injury on anyone, but I think he must be waiting for someone to get injured!

That is true and will probably more difficult to find a club in Jan that are willing to take a punt on an unproven young keeper unless you are happy that there maybe some risks that surround that. It will be interesting to see what we do with 2nd choice for next season.

What an embarrassing thread this is. Sums up the OP.
After seeing you post across multiple threads, I find it increasingly astounding how poor your comprehension skills are.

The premise of this thread is not that Luke Faxon is a phenomenal goalkeeper who should be starting for us- it's that Adam Davies is insufficient as a backup at this level and we should be looking at other options.

Ye I understand the thread it's not exactly complicated. Look at the state of the posts about Adam Davies. He's done nothing wrong and been a great servant. Embarrassing.

He's not done a lot right either, drops clangers and induces heart palpitations every time he comes outside his 6 yard box.. At best a semi capable back up but he puts no pressure on Cooper whatsoever to challenge for the No1 shirt. Oh for the Tracey/Kelly days.

The fact that Darren Ward is Wales No1 says all you need to know...

He doesn't drop clangers every time he leaves his 6 yard box though does he. He's not let us down. Certainly doesn't deserve abuse from clowns on here.

Apologies Mrs Davies for any offence to your Husband.....

He's crap. He flaps, panics at every cross and is about as good at shot stopping as my 78 year old mum. A good back up keeper should be putting pressure on Cooper for the shirt, Davies doesn't do that at all. Cooper knows he is No1 and even at 50% fit he will keep his position, zero competition.

Oh ffs again. Yes I'm Mrs Davies. And Danny Hall. How unbelievably witty. Is this really the height of your humour? Fucking painful man.

He's not crap and doesn't do those things. He's a back up champipnship keeper who is absolutely fine. You're just agreeing with the other clowns because you can't form your own opinion.

I have absolutely given my own opinion so that makes you the clown and if you can't take it that others have an opinion that might just not agree with yours then you are as equally "fucking painful".....man.....(or more likely boy).

Davies is woeful. Kept out of a shit Wales side by Karl Darlow and Danny Ward tells you everything you need to know. We need a Keeper to put pressure on Cooper, Davies doesn't do that at all.

No the painful bit is calling me Mrs Davies, not a difference of opinion. I know it's the height of comedy for a lot of you but my god it's painful.

Davies isnt woeful. Like I say you're just parroting these others throwing ridiculous abuse at him. Sums it up really.

No need for you to reply

I think I posted this somewhere else but it would be interesting to know if we loaned Faxon out knowing he’d be number two. It’s unusual sending keepers on long term loans to not play, he could be doing the same with us and be around higher quality coaches and facilities.

If Boston made commitments and didn’t keep them hopefully we’re able to bring him back in January and place him elsewhere.

Davies certainly isn't woeful, certainly adequate championship back up as he proved when Cooper was out.
I think you're wasting your time with Mr Torrix, it's an entrenched view on a professional footballer, none of whom are "crap" or "garbage" as many critics like stating.

He's entitled to that view nonetheless.

Thank you. I am entitled to my view and I have expressed that. The main point I was trying, (and obviously failing to do so) was to get across that Davies doesn't offer any competition to Cooper whatsoever. Yes he may be adequate cover, but personally I think he offers nothing in terms of competition and is a very poor alternative.
