My grandad took an age to fill his pools coupon in. Had all the newspapers spread out to study recent form. Never won owt.

My dad was the same. Then I did them for years using random numbers. Same level of success......
Also, always remember that as soon as we got home from a match we all listened to the results on the radio and wrote them in the little section of the newspaper. Then checked against the pools coupon. Then had a good moan. Then dad went out to the pub/social club to give his mates his thoughts on the match.

As a kid, I used to love climbing on the roof of the building which is now The Yorkshire Tile Company to get a glimpse of the pitch and players when there was a match on.
