Has made Brentford a force.

Yeh yeh I know he has some money to spend but he’s a prime example of someone with some coaching nous and know-how who’s got a team performing probably above their position in the league.

And they just smashed high spending Chelsea 3-0.

It can be done, we can unearth a gem, we just need to proactively search NOW behind the scenes. But I do not trust our owners to do this properly. I’d even half expect them to consult with ChatGPT.

Both Brentford and Brighton have English owners who are on the scene and on top of developments make make decisions from being on top of things within there clubs .
We have owners who run the club on the hoof no studying of the game from within in other words totally nieve about the English game.
Its obviouse Wilder is struggling and now Knill is gone he has no experienced man to rebound ideas off.Jones and Collins just don't have the nous we need ( lack of experience)
We need to put Wilder upstairs and bring in a young coach not a rooky as Wilder termed it when called out after the Fleetwood debacle.
The way it's going he will be sacked anyway if things don't improve drastically ! We are not at the racers and being left behind by clubs with vibrant young coaches who are ready for the challenge.Andrews was one such coach with fresh ideas there are others and we don't have to go abroad to find one,although that foreign coach has to be someone full of fresh ideas. Would Wilder accept a roll of head of football he bleeds red and white someone like him as head of football would be ideal .
Our model has to change these Americans are so nieve about football and need someone to move us forward.I think Wilder would a big asset in that roll ! As I said he is a sitting duck really unless things change drastically.
That all too true phrase springs to mind! Stand still and you go backwards! Seen it all before we get in a pickle and the manager gets sacked.

We don't know yet, but perhaps this is why Phil Jones was brought in, as this seemed to have been a club appointment rather than a Wilder appointment.

I'm hoping this is the start of the changes needed with a view to Wilder leaving next summer if he's not deservedly sacked before then.

I'm hoping things are going on in the background that we don't yet know about, although if we are moving to a Director of Football then we need to recruit them this season so that they can start identifying potential transfer targets for next summer and plan for the squad overhaul required. Sacking Wilder at the end of the season and recruiting one then leaves them at a disadvantage for what the role is expected to do.

Was going to say similar. The structure at Brighton and moreso Brentford is incredible. How many managers have come in at Brighton and they just carry on regardless?
Andrews has gone on to Brentford and picked up what Thomas Frank left behind.

Tottenham are the exact opposite of these 2 clubs and they have taken managers previously at Brentford and Brighton... Thomas Frank flopped and De Zerbi is currently flopping there. Does this highlight the magnitude of the job at Spurs, or does it show that these aren't actually good managers outside of the solid models at B & B ? - I know De Zerbi also did well at Marseille (the biggest club in France historically)

Finlay with all due respect do you know what a CEO role is? The CEO sets the overall strategy of the business, he decides how to spend the budget and control costs. Hes the day to day manager of the business and reports to the shareholders...ie the owners. He will need their approval for big decisions but its totally within his power to go to them and say I've looked at the budget and I believe we need a DoF, or I believe we need to beef up the recruitment team...and in many cases he wouldn't need their approval to do that. It depends how hands on the owners are and its pretty clear ours arent.

Hes been CEO for 10 years now under various owners and our infrastructure isnt fit for purpose. That is down to him as he has been running the business for a decade.

The results on the field show that the club were right to back him. This season they have added Damien Duff to the backroom team. He was involved in the Irish national team and had success managing Shelbourne. He can be fairly blunt but nobody can question his drive and coaching ability.
