Joking aside, I was a fan of mk1, like everyone else. That doesn’t buy him a free pass for the rest of days, though. Everything about mk3 has become just painful. I said I’d give it ten games, but I think it needs bringing to an end now.

I’m very much a Wilder fan, however I completely agree that last season (accepting he dragged us out of the shit initially) and this, is not good enough anymore.

Plus, as much as the 92 points was an outstanding achievement on paper, we were fucking awful to watch and very fortunate on many occasions.

I think that even with our obvious financial restrictions, we should be serving up better than this. It can obviously be argued that most sides would struggle having sold their best three players without any semblance of adequate replacement, but we actually do have enough experience and quality within this squad to be giving us something better than we are seeing.

I genuinely think that he has lost his bottle to an extent and everything about the club screams of needing freshening up.

I'm struggling to really put a coherent argument against you, but do you really trust our septic clowns, not to actually appoint somebody worse?

I accept, this is an abysmally pathetic defence of Wilder, but I'm pretty sure we aren't currently scouring Europe for a fresh cutting edge manger.

No, I don’t trust them to get it right. It would definitely be a gamble based on what went before. But I do think it likely that they will have learned from that. These people may not understand football, clearly they don’t, but they aren’t stupid. So my hope is that they would have a proper recruitment process led by a credible football person this time.

Previously, I was in the camp of giving him this season, but the recent direction of travel has led me to change my position. Particularly, the comments last week about wanting to be 2007 Everton and only British and Scandinavian players having the culture to play for the club have led me to the conclusion that we really are on the road to nowhere with him.

But that’s just my opinion.
